YAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

What wonderful news. It sounds as though Owen is bouncing back nicely after his long ordeal.

Way to go Owen! Indy and Ava send their congratulatory slobbers and best wishes for a continued recovery.

Kysha,

I just found this thread, and at first was so sorry to hear that one of my favortite boxers on this site was not doing well. But after reading through the whole thread (through tears), I am so very very happy that Owen is doing better. I will add very strong vibes from my end that everything stays good for Owen. Sending big hugs from all of us.

I am honoured to hear that Owen is one of your fav's. Thank you.

Owen has now moved up to 37!! We met with our vet yesterday and we are going to keep him status quo to see where Owen will level off (where his normal range is). Once we get there we will then start to wean him off the steroids. This will be a long process with lots of ups and downs, but we will do our best to get him off the steroids all together.

Owen came out on Sunday for a fun match (agility), and he had a GREAT time. He was jumping 16 inches (elbow height) and he had a blast! His endurance has decreased quite a bit, but we have the green light to start increasing his exercise and treat him normal!!!

We will go back in again in another two weeks for another count.

Way to go Owen. You have made a good day even better. It is so good to hear of his improvement. Indy and Ava will continue to send tag team vibes.

I can tell by the tenor of your posts that you are much relieved, and definitely much more optimistic.

We off to the vet again yesterday for another blood count and Owen is now at 44!!! This is well within the normal range (35-55). I am just so proud of him.

He will stay on the steroids until his blood cound levels off, and then start to wean him off, this will take about six months!

Owen has started to eat his veggie mush again and had not refused a meal in over a month! I know the steroids make him hungier than normal so that helps!

Owen now weighs in at 68.5 pounds! This is the heaviest he has EVER been. I have never been able to get him over 63. He looks OK (a little heavy for my liking though). I will VERY slowly cut back on his food so that he doesn't keep gaining weight! I want to be careful that he doesn't loose any weight.

Owen had been back to agility and is having a ball.

Thank you all for your good vibes!
