My cleaning lady was here today. I'm usually not here when she's here and Kronk (6 months) is usually outside, out of her way. However, today I was here, and Kronk was inside. When she got out the vacuum, he was immediately interested and followed her to where she plugged it in. He layed down as close as he could legally get (he's not allowed on the carpet) and stared at it, perking up his ears. He was very excited when she turned it on and could hardly stay off the carpet. He sat up and reached a paw toward it and when it finally got close enough, he stuck his paw out and swiped at it and continued to do so several times until I finally put him outside!

Cracks me up! I knew he had a thing for blow dryers. He goes crazy. But the vacuum is a new thing. :)

Max hates the vaccuum cleaner! He doesn't just paw at it, he barks and tries to bite it. He really gets upset. He also hates the broom. And, the leaf blower?! Forget about it! We have to put him inside when we're blowing leaves because we fear he'll get blown up like a Boxer balloon!

So, the way I see it, I just shouldn't clean!

Layla loves the vacuum! I have to vacuum her whenever I take it out. When I vacuum the stairs she stands in front of me and starts jackhammering and barking. She loves it!

LOL......

I'm not sure if Koda hates it or loves it. As soon as I get it out he stares at it, then as soon as it comes on he does the whole jackhammer thing, bark, growl, bite it. I think he's trying to kill it but all I know is that is my highlight when vacuumming...I laugh so hard at him. And it takes him awhile to stop once it's turned off. Sometimes he'll just sit there and look at it as if he's waiting for it to turn on again and then there are other times he sits there and barks at it like, hey turn on I'm not done with you yet....It's too funny!

Mia LOVES the vaccum and blowdryer and broom. She has to be put out or in another room when I try to clean. She bites at it, paws, barks. I can not get anything done with her. She even does it when I try to dust or clean the glass table. Attacking the cloth or paper towels. Zeus on the other hand runs if the vaccum gets to close and he has not been outside in a while he will wet! This is just our inside drama, when it comes to cleaning doggie poo or watering flowers forget it, it is even worse than inside.

I agree with Jeanie and Max, it would be much easier if I did not clean!

When I lived at home, for family entertainment, we would bring out the vacuum.....Bull, our macho male, would go crazy....not only would he attack it but he would grab the front and try to run away with it and better yet shake it crazy....he was so strong that it was hard to keep it in our hands....when I got my little girl, Scarlett, she would do the same thing....it was hilarious. Now that we have a little one, Gracie, I am wondering if she is going to be the same way....not sure though....she runs away now when it turns on. Will see....I miss the entertainment!

Our Garvin likes to chase bark and bite the vacuum he would go nuts it got to the point i couldn't clean with him around. Then i got a grip on myself, this is, as the supernanny would say, unasseptable behaviour. I told him to get up on his chair. Made him stay there while I vacuumed around him. He would jump off & attack, i turn off vac and start again. Its taken awhile but now he will sit still while i vac (but inside just DESPERATE to murder the vac). They are so lovable & goofy it can be hard to set boundaries but in the end the quality of life is much better for all involved if you do

My babies do the same thing. It first started out as only Brandy attacking the vacum and then Helga joined in and so on and so on. It is rather interesting to vacum in my house you either need to have the babies outside or in the crates. Otherwise it's quite the battle. My husband however likes to play with the dogs and the vacum he finds it quite amuzing but I'm sure my neighbors think differently when they hear the dogs go on.
