Anyone have any experience with knee injuries?
I was standing on a bar stool type chair with wheels in the garage (I know, real stupid!) . My right leg hit the chair as I was falling. The MRI report says I have a completely torn ACL, extensive tear to the MCL and a transverse tear of the meniscus. All that for a little fall! I wish I could say it was a skiing accident....sounds really stupid when I say I fell off a chair!
After my visit with the ortho last Friday, he says a lot of people can live without an ACL if you do not play sports which I don't. He thinks I should repair the meniscus and go through PT and see how my knee feels. If it feels unstable then have the ACL reconstructed.
But then I'm thinking about it over the weekend and look at Apollo and Zoe......what am I thinking? How am I supposed to be able to walk these two ever again if I don't have a stable knee? I think without my ACL, I am sure I will end up falling and hurting myself again with these two! Isn't walking two boxers considered a sport?
I think I will call him and ask for the ACL reconstruction at the same time!
Does anyone have any advice or been through ACL surgery?
Thanks, Sandy
