That is an awfully big water bowl!!! I've thought about getting Louie one too, but he's so freaked out by water, that I highly doubt he'd do anything but drink out of it either. If I tried to put him in it, I'd surely end up with another fat lip or a black eye...
I'm glad you guys were having fun though!

Emma uses her pool as both a large water bowl and as a pool. She does a lot of bouncing in and out, but does seem to like it.

My girls don't like it....they just like drinking out of it. Bella wants to hang out with us in the yard but if Missy sees us get the pool out (the TINY kiddie pool), she'll hide inside....refuses to even come out. I guess because she thinks I'll spray her with the hose. Mean momma! LOL

Completely Boxer Crazy
None of my boxers seem to be afraid of water or the hose. In fact, if they get loose here (even though I'm in the country I don't let them run loose), all I have to do is turn on the outside pump and they come running to stick their head in! This is my fail safe way of catching a boxer that is running around like a cross between a greyhound and a jumping deer.

Yesterday I took Tyra up to the garden with me while I watered it. I think she and I were covered with more water and mud than the garden was. All three of mine LOVE water!

My Alexus loves water, I moved her down to Arkansas from Canada where the heat isn't so bad and she has always loved Baths also so that may be the difference. She has always loved to lay down in the tub also and let me soak her. When I got the kiddy pool for her she would burn around the yard playing soccer with my husband and then run to the pool practically dive in cool off and back to play again. I don't know what we would do without the pool.....she would just over heat!!!! But I have always had her in the lake and pools back home swimming. She is a good swimmer if you hold her back end up becuase she sinks......no body fat to make her float. But she has always been a water baby........good luck getting them usto it, I was lucky with her because she trusts me enough that if I would get in it so would she.

My 7 month old Boxer (Harley) loves his kiddie pool. At first, he was reluctant to go in and used it as a large water bowl. Over the course of a week, with some coaxing and mom playing in the pool with him...he has learned to like it! Try putting a kong in the pool. I add two each day and Harley loves "fishing" for them. I also have some water rings and diving sticks that I add to the kiddie pool and Harley spends hours going in and out retrieving the toys! This pastime keeps him cool on these hot summer days and busy!
Good luck!

Ours would get in their pool only if one of us was in with them!!! but our fishpond is another story we could never keep them out! those poor fish! It used to be quite a game watching Chief play in the pond & chase the fish from one end to the other you would always have to refill the pond after he got out.

My Boxer and mixed breed have enjoyed their pool, I haven't had my Bichon in one yet, but I can picture her hating it! She HATES baths, so she may think of it that way! LOL

Chloe loves the baby pool....LOVES it...as you can see in some of her pics...I feel like she thinks the splash is something to catch to so that's all she does, spins around and tries to catch the splashes she makes with her paws...plus she loves running water...ie the hose so if you're filling the pool when shes in it....what a game for her...so funny....i want to take her to the beach sometime to see what she does with that.

Oh, my babies love the kiddie pool. I think I have a pic in the photo gallery. In fact with Jazz I have to make sure I only put a few inches cause I`m afraid she will drown herself. She likes to lay down in it. Give`m time. One day you won`t be able to keep them out of it.
