1. What is kennelcough.
2. For what i heard yet i think my 8 week old puppy has it: she coughs sometimes like she has slime in her throat and her eyes are a little runny. But there comes nothing out of her nose. I just had her yesterday so if u have some advise u are welcom.

Kennel cough is something like a human
cough/cold. It's not necessarily a big deal
in an individual adult dog.

However, EVERYTHING is a big deal for an
8 week old puppy. Any sign of sickness should
send you right to the vet. Little puppies can
fail quickly from problems like diarrhea or
vomiting that are just pesky problems in
adult dogs.

Please take the sweet pup to the vet
immediately. It may be nothing or it
may be something very bad.

There are several very serious illnesses
that would present with the symptoms you
describe. It may be nothing, but it could
be something terrible -- I can't see the pup
and even if I could, from what you describe
I would seek help. Can you call your puppy's
breeder and ask her to come to the house
and look at the pup to see if it can wait until
morning to see the vet? Ask also if any of the
other puppies are sick.

If you don't have a vet you can see this evening,
just keep the puppy close to you overnight
and take it to the vet in the morning.

Again, it may be nothing, or something very
serious. We just can't tell from your description,
and ANY 8 week old pup who appears sick should
see a vet.

Our little girl Bailey had what sounds to be the same thing shortly after we brought her home. We took her to the vet and she had a form of bronchitis. Some antibiotics and she was good as new.

I brought home my 8 week old puppy last Friday, he too has kennel cough and was on antibiotics.....however, he got worse fast, and ended up in the animal hospital with oxygen, steroids, cough suppressants and more antibitoics, for two days. he is doing great now, but be careful, can get out of hand FAST!
