juke missing someone to bark at

We had to get cocoa the cat put to rest this week due to kidney failure and other problems she had , she was 16 years old and not getting any younger. Juke loved to go and tease her and just start to bark at her and try and play ball with her, she would have nothing to do with juke apart from spitting at him. Juke does go and sniff were her tray used to be and were she used to sleep, you know yourself how you feel when your pet has gone and how sad it is your other pets must feel something. The last thing juke saw was cocoa being taking away in a cat basket and the basket coming home empty.That what upset us aswel as cocoa going is juke seeing the basket empty.

I'm so sorry you lost your Cocoa, and Juke lost his little friend :( Godspeed, Cocoa. I hope Juke will be OK soon, he just has to go through his grieving period, too.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Yes, animals definetely mourn thier losses, just like us. A friend of mine recently lost an elderly cat and her bulldog, Scarlett, is mourning. She lies in Cassie's place on the couch and keeps looking for her. I guess only time heals it. Poor babies :(

I'm sorry to hear that. Harley's the same way with my cat. He loves to bug him! I'm probably going to be in your shoes when my cat has to go.
