auntthelm, I have to second sasmeow's statement. Your sharing the story of your angelicon Crystal has probably saved more lives than you will ever know. I would never have known not to let a vet give my baby Rimadyl (not that one has but now I know to be aware should the situation ever arise) without you. I am so very sorry you lost your baby like that, but take some comfort in knowing that many of us who would not have otherwise known about the danger are now on alert.

sasmeow, I feel the hug. Thank you. Continued healthy vibes to Izzy and Gus, too.

HurricaneBox, Warning others of the dangers is the least I can do to honor Crystal's memory. Thank you for your kind thoughts.

Izzy is back on just her regular food and doing good so far!!!! I throw in a little chicken just for a treat, because she loves it. She looks like she feels great. She is back to her cute, silly, sassy self. She wants to run and play so bad. She cries at the back door and watchs the other dogs run :( I wish her knee was better. Maybe she just needs a little more rest.

Great news that Izzy is back to her sassy self and doing well with her food!! :) That is definitely a good sign. Continuing to send healing vibes and hope her knee improves.

I also want to express appreciation to auntthelm for sharing her Beloved Crystal's story. I have been hearing and reading about more and more tragedies from Rimadyl. Hopefully at some point soon, it will be taken off the market.

Hello and just checking in to see how Izzy is doing. Sounds like she's coming back to her old self. Hugs.

Izzy is still doing well and still eating well. It's weird, she eats every meal. Before, she would leave it sometimes. She must still be super hungry. She was sad today because I took Gus for a ride by himself to check out the doggie daycare, but she is now babysitting with me and very excited. I don't know who is more excited, the kids or Izzy!!!

She was holding her leg off the ground today and limping on three legs on and off all day. I will call the vet Monday, but I will make sure she understands that I am not giving her any NSAID's, like the Rimadyl. It breaks my heart that Izzy can't go to daycare with Gus.

Thanks for the update, I was wondering how Izzy was doing. I am so glad that She is enjoying her meals. It is too bad she can't go with Gus, but she will have her own special time I sure.

I hope the vet can give her something to help with the limping that is safe and works well.

Izzy gets to go to my moms house and hang out with her cocker spaniel Coco, and then hang out with my brother and/or mom at night until I finish with class at 10 or 11 pm. You can check my post in the boxer ring if you want, about my new job, doggie day care, etc.....

Izzy has diarrhea again :( Don't know if I should go back to the chicken/rice again or give her some pepto or just wait a day and see if she is ok tomorrow. She was doing so good. She cried at 7:30 this morning (we usually get up at 11 or so, unless I have to work... we stay up til 3 or 4am) to poo, and it was diarrhea and then 3-4 more episodes of diarrhea the rest of the day. The day before, she was kind of straining to go, so I don't understand how it can go from one extreme to the other, and she didn't eat anything different. Just her food. I did start her back on her supplement 3 days ago...its called Wholitic Pet (you can google it if you want to see whats all in it). It has glucosamine and lots of other stuff in it. I wonder if that is doing it. She has been on it for 2 months now and was fine for 2 months.
