As I was sitting here at the computer, Joey was ringing his bell. Well, I knew he didn't need to go potty and the next thing I know, he is standing up at the refrigerator, trying to get a piece of ice out of the dispenser. LOL!! (He goes NUTS for a piece when I have one and is well aware of where it comes out at.) Upon inspection, I realized his water bowl was empty. Poor guy was trying to cool off in a clever way.

:LOL: That's too funny! Leave it to a Boxer to be smart enough to know where the ice dispencer is! Pretty soon he''ll probably figure out how to open the fridge too :) Boxers always keep you laughing, bless their little hearts.

Ice

We have an ice machine in the backyard and it drains cold water all the time. Well during the summer my baby echo got really hot she knock her bowl over and laid right on top on the cold water puddle. It was so funny when i went outside to get ice she was just laying there looking at me with her brown eyes.

Humm, I've never given Roxie ice but I think I'll give her some when I get home and see what she does. I know that she LOVES frozen bell peppers slices and I have heard that it is a great treat to freeze some gravy (or vitagravy) in your ice trays at home and give those to your dogs.

All of our fur babies love to play with ice...they love to play with ice cube frosty paws even more though :D

My FIL's boxers will go sit by the refrigerator and whine until he gets them each a piece of ice to play with! LOL

Careful!

Just remember to "wet" the ice before you give it to your baby. My cocker grabbed one that I dropped right out of the freezer and it stuck to her little tongue. Ouchie!

DH got Hogan hooked on ice. Now, whenever anyone has a glass with ice, they also have a boxer staring them down for a piece of ice. It's cute. DH has to suck his ice cube before he spits it into Hogan's mouth though, because it's always coming from a whiskey and coke! I'm glad Hogan hasn't figured out how to push the button for the ice. Thank goodness there is a lock button for when that happens.

Careful.

Jacob used to love ice cubes & we didn't hesitate to give him any. Then maybe 2yrs ago he started vomiting right after eating ice cubes. We tried it once, twice, three times & he got sick every time. The vet said that he probably had a sensitive stomach and the extreme temperature change was upsetting it. Just thought I'd share.
