It is a boxer thing. I go out of my way if I see another boxer anywhere to approach them, I can't help myself. Tulsa Dan - that Mr. Benz Boxer story is the best. I can clearly picture it.:D

I'm guilty too. I umpire baseball & softball and was doing a game a few weeks back. Well during the game a woman with a white Boxer came and sat in the stands. Nauturally between innings I went over and spoke to her and her "little rascal". I don't remember the woman's name but the Boxers name was Darla. She was all white except for a checked fawn circle around one eye and looked something like Petey from the Little Rascals.

OF COURSE it's a boxer thing!! I stop and start talking to random people all the time when I see a boxer at the end of the leash.

We get lots of attention from other boxer owners as well, my kids just love it up!

Before we had Boomer, my husband thought I was crazy. I would go out of my way to speak to people with boxers. Bob's just like "It's just a dog." No, it's not just a dog, it's a BOXER! Now he understands, and together we chase people down who own Boxers!!!:D It's definitly a Boxer thing!!!

A few weeks ago when I was in NJ, I was driving to my friends house for a small gathering of the guys who used to hang out. I was almost out of my parents housing development and saw a older gentleman walking this boxer male who just looked amazing. He was very fit and in shape and at the moment looked regal. I was about to pull over to talk to the guy, but had a line of cars behind me (and in front of me, I wasn't the slow one :p ) and couldn't pull it off. So I rolled down my window and shouted NICE BOXER, the gentleman got this HUGE grin on his face and waved back shouting thanks.

Yeah, it's definately a boxer thang.

I have lived in my neighborhood three years and knew none of my neighbors, not even those within three houses of mine. After getting Sundance, I have become friends with so many people and I actually feel like part of the neighborhood. When Sundance and I walk people actually come out of their homes to comment on how pretty he is or they just want to pet him. This happens over and over again, even by people walking their own dogs.

One day a guy was walking his dog. He got my attention at first because I thought, am I looking at a yellow boxer??
It turns out it's part lab and part boxer. The head was shaped exactly like a boxer, but the body was the yellow lab color.

Of course, I am converting people as fast as I can to become boxer owners. Forget these other breeds. It's a boxer thing!

I have to agree with everyone. When I take my boxer to the park or for a walk I must hear a thousand stories from other people who own boxers or who have owned them and I end up learning their life stories. I always plan a little extra time at the park knowing that I will get stopped more than once! The funny thing is that when I walk my boyfriends chocolate lab I don't get nearly as many comments or people stopping me.:) :)

We get the same kind of response from people. We always have people coming up to us asking to pet them or telling us how they had one as a kid or a friend has one, etc. I love getting this kind of feed-back. The best is when you drive down the highway, doing 60 mph and cars pull up next to you and ride along beside you to wave and blow kisses to my babies! They've got a face you just have to love!

It definitely has to be a Boxer thing. We once had someone come up to us to say that they had been following us for so long trying to catch up just to see Murray up close! I especially love the look on people's faces when they see Murray sitting in the driver's seat of our Expedition waiting for my husband to come back.

I agree totally! I love cruising down the interstate with Buddy (especially with the T-Tops out-seatbelt on of course;) ), and looking over and seeing someone stressed out on their way home from work, and then they see Buddy hanging out, and this humongous grin just creeeeps over their face:D And when we go to the local Greenway to walk, we can't get anywhere for people stopping and talking baby talk, and saying "Is that a boxer", "he's white", "he's so cute"?!?!?!? And telling us of someone they know who has one. The bad part is, I have yet to actually run into another boxer walking the Greenway :( But when I see a boxer somewhere else, I head straight for him/her:p
