It has finally happened......

and I am a nervous wreck!!! We all decided the time was right for us to get a Boxer! YIPPEE!! We found a wonderful breeder in Canada who performs all the health testing, and off went my deposit. All the pups in the litter are sold already, and the parents were just mated. I am beyond excited, but really nervous too. This is something I have wanted (and have been researching) for about 5 years now. We don't get our new baby until the middle of June, but already we have made a trip to Petsmart where everyone got to pick a cool toy out for our not yet born puppy. I have already been looking for a good vet and I am currently looking for a good ear cropping vet in Arizona. (I was told there are not any here in NM.) Boxerworld was a very valuable tool in helping me understand what a good breeder is. I also learned all the right questions to ask a breeder and what the answers should be. Well all, now I only have to wait 4 months to pick up my baby. How will I survive????? Just thought I would share my excitment.

If for some reason the momma doesn't conceive, I know of several good Arizona breeders that health test.

You have four long months to think of that perfect name for the new baby. But, the time will zoom by.

I'll bet the clock seems like it has stopped. Initially our breeder expected to have pups in the late fall, but her bitch came into heat later than expected so the pups weren't born until January.

On Friday we'll be bringing a second Boxer into our home to be a companion for Indy. I know how slowly the time passed while we were anticipating another Boxer. But now the time is just about here.

Make the most of your time by learning all you can about Boxers. They have the ability to surprise even the most experienced breeders from time to time. You'll have time to find a good vet, a good trainer for puppy, group or individual obedience training. You can puppy proof your home if that's possible.

You can visit Boxerworld frequently to learn, laugh and cry along with us. We're glad you found a responsible breeder. If it's not too far, you should be able to arrange visits with your pup before he/she comes home with you.

Keep in touch with us. And, oh yes, be sure to have an ample supply of film or memory sticks for your camera. Plenty of pictures will be expected.

Thank you everybody for all the well wishes. We are just beside ourselves with excitement in this house. We are already planning a summer BBQ/ pool party with the theme "Cheryl finally got her Boxer baby." We want all our friends to see just how special our pup is. We already have friends and family in CT, AZ, and CA planning on coming out! How fun is that party going to be??!!

Laurie-duke, am I going to make it? Yes, but I'm sure the wait will give me more gray hairs!:eek:

aoathout, I bet the last 8 days is a harder wait than my 4 months. I will be going totally crazy when it gets that close.

Kruzink-9s, as for all the goodies...I'm thinking about adding on another room to hold all of them. Four months is a lot of buying time!:D

Thomas Liggin, first let me say that I always enjoy reading your posts. You really do have a way with the English language. I've often thought that you should be an author. Wait, I know...a book on Boxers. One reason that I am happy that our baby will be arriving in the summer is that my daughters can attend puppy kindergarten and obedience training with me. We also plan on having a private trainer come in to our home to work with us. I'm hoping that Tulsa Dan will be wanting to visit Albuquerque this summer!!:p Even tho I don't write too often , I am on BW almost daily reading and learning all that I can. Oh, and I have the digital, still and video camera all ready to go!

Elephant, I'm hoping that our baby turns out to be our best friend!
