catcrazy56: I don't remember if they wormed the puppies or not. I know they did take them to the vet for their first set of shots. I can't believe the vet didn't say anything, but maybe he did. I think she did have some type of worms, but not real sure, I try not to think about how bad she was.
I still wonder if the others survived. I actually bought her from the mom of the woman who actually bred them. I guess the woman was at work, so her mom came over to show me the puppies. She was stupid too. But stupidity is no excuse for treating dogs this way. She (the mom/grandmother) kept one of the boy puppies and she told me she kept him in a crate in the garage, or in a crate outside. I doubt he is still alive. There were kids too, younger girls and they told me that one puppy had died. How sad... those girls probably think treating animals this way is normal. I wonder about the other puppies too. I know one of the ones that was left, that was smaller than Izzy, a woman was going to buy her, but had to wait till Friday when she got her paycheck. I thought that was pretty bad because that poor girl will not get proper vet care or food. If she has to wait for a pay check..... the poor dog can't wait to eat or go to the vet!!! I hate dumb people so much. I believe there is a special place in HELL for people like that, anyone who mistreats animals in any way.
Everyone I contacted about this situation just blew me off and told me to call someone else, just gave me someone else to call. I don't know what the humane society does around here. I thought Izzy was pretty bad and it was a situation that needed to be addresed.
When I got Izzy, I never met the owner, just her mom, like I had said. They didn't have a health guarentee whatsoever!!! I told her I needed one if I was going to pay for a dog that looked so ill and thin. I didn't even know if she was going to make it to the vet. They told me I could take her to the vet and I had a few days. The mom and dad dogs were outside in runs...... I hope they didn't live out there. They had all the puppies in the basement and let them in the yard, so who knows their living conditions.
Izzy is a special girl and will always be my special angel. When they showed me her papers, I had to get her when I saw her birthday was the same day as mine! I love her so much. I just wish there was something I could do about people who treat animals cruely. People always ask me if I bought Izzy as a puppy or if I rescued her, and I always tell people that I basically did rescue her.
