Ok, I was going thru pictures on my computer and came across pictures of Izzy. These pictures below are disturbing, so don't look if you don't want to. She was very thin. I have never seen a puppy this thin. I did buy her from a BYB. I did not know at the time how bad that was, it was before I found this site. She was my first dog that I purchased myself. She is the best dog now. I did pay for her, because I just couldn't leave her there looking that way. There were 3 puppies left, including her, at the time. One was like her, and one looked kinda healthy. I should have just taken them all and ran. The little kids told me that one just died. I did contact the SPCA and the humane society and no one did a thing. The lady that sold them just wanted to make money, obviously. She was 7 pounds at 10 weeks old! Gus was a healthy pup, and he was 7 pounds at 5 weeks old! My vet at the time didn't even know if Izzy would make it. I just wanted to share these with you guys cause I knew you would understand. Didn't she look terrible???? What would you have done??? She is the best dog ever and I do not regret getting her at all. She is such a baby doll. It bothers me to this day that they did nothing to the owner of the dogs. She is probably still breeding more pups, if the parents are still alive. When I went to see her, she was trying to nurse off her mom, and the woman pushed her away and yelled at her. I wanted to say, she is starving you idiot!!!! I did say how thin they were, and the dumb lady was like, oh ya, I can see their ribs when they are eating. What an idiot!! It bothers me so much how cruel people can be. Izzy has had both knees operated on for torn ACL's, and now I wonder if it all goes back to her first months of life when she was trying to just survive. But she is VERY well taken care of now, and I think she is very grateful. She is the best.

The first day I had her home (I had to rush her to the vet because she had bloody poo) The white mark is where her bone was rubbing her skin:

Izzy 1 year later (1year, 5 months old) at the same spot. She is such a good girl to pose for the camera:

It sounds like that lady was trying to get rid of them before she had to pay money to actually feed them. That would have cut into her profit if she would have had to buy extra food for them! That is so sad. Izzy is lucky you happened upon that breeder, even though it was a BYB. She would have died for sure if you hadn't have found her. But Izzy looks beautiful now! :)

God bless you for saving that sweet baby. She fattened up good and she was and still is beautiful. One of my dogs Melvin was a rescue and he was looking real skinny not quite as bad but not far either. He is looking real good now and is spoiled rotten.

Izzy is gorgeous now! She and Gus look a lot like my Shae and Kirby, same coloring all around! They're both adorable!

BYB or not, I would say you did the right thing by taking her, the poor sweet little thing. It is amazing to look back at the pictures when they looked so poorly and see how they have blossomed. Just yesterday I looked back at my 34lb Mindy, the day after I brought her home. When I look at her now 6 months later, at 55lbs, I am saddened that she had to go through that, but extremely happy I got the chance to make a difference in her life.

Izzy is extremely lucky to have found you!
