Cisco cracks me up every morning. His crate is in the kitchen, as I am getting my skin daughter ready for school he will let out these huge sighs and turn his back to us! This morning I was asleep on the couch (I am having problems with my knee and didnt want to get it bumped in bed) and Cisco was asleep on the loveseat. Hubby came in at 7:30 to wake me up. He asked Cisco if he wanted to go outside, Cisco wagged is butt and little nub at him, but would barely lift his head. He refused to get up that early! If I let him, he likes to sleep about 12 hrs a night with no potty breaks!
Is this the norm or do I have a lazy baby?

Sleeper and Early riser

No matter what day it is, I have Mattie on such a schedule that on Saturday and Sunday morning (at 7 AM) she gets out of bed, stands at the door, and STARES at me until I get up to take her out and feed her. Then, of course, she comes back to bed with me. Sinatra, however, on the other hand... is still being crate trained. My BF will get up to take the dogs out on saturday morning.. and sinatra will go from the crate, to the bed and snuggle up with me in my arms. He never wants to go outside.. just wants a chance to sleep in the bed. So.. .i guess i have a little of both.

Layla is the same way! She has been this way since we got her as a puppy. She sleeps with hubby and me and I'm the first to get up a get a shower and the two of them snore away, then hubby gets up and showers, Layla is still snoring away in the bed. I get ready in the bedroom and Layla does not move. We kiss and hug her a different times while we are getting ready and she barely lifts her head to look at us! Finally we are getting our coats on and we have to drag her butt out of bed to go out and pee so that we can go in the car. She lazily gets up stretching the whole way down the hall. Then when she comes in from doing her pee, she tries to go back to sleep on the couch. And we're like, Layla come on time to go in the car. A big Hufff from her and she finally comes, only to sleep most of the way in my lap in the car!
Its the same on the weekends. If there's nothing doing, its nothing for her to sleep until 12:00 or 1:00! Crazy dog...

I have 2 and they are both day and night! Since Xena is the oldest, I voted with her in mind. She sleeps in!! Sometimes I have to physically push her out of bed to go outside in the morning, and if it's raining out...forget it!! She can hold herself for 1/2 a day before moving off her warm bed and going out in the rain!
Spirit, on the other hand, is totally opposite! He just recently graduated from crate to sharing a bed with Xena at night time. The first night I learned my lesson...do NOT leave any doggie toys out or the house is woken up at 4am to the sound of Spirit pouncing and thumping and attacking his toys!! So the toys are put out of reach! Now my little man likes to come in my room around 5am and snort in my face, giving me a good ole boxer-boogy-bathe!! I let him get into my bed and it takes him about 5 min to settle down and go back to sleep! :)

Riley will get up early (usually 6-6:30am) to go for her morning walk, have breakfast and play while I get ready for work. After that she settles back down and usually sleeps until noon!

I Wish!

Both our kids get up around six AM on the button!! Roaring and ready to go! Tyson however has figured out that it is best to lay back down after they go potty until mommy and daddy are awake or they get the boot out of the bed room for an hour or two Ali is still learning this! she would like for us to get up and entertain her as soon as she is ready!

Cypress is a late sleeper. I come down in the mornings about 7 or 7:30 and he's snoring away on the couch. I usually have to come over and pet him and poke at him to get him up! And if it's raining and cold FORGET it.. I have to make him go pee if I know I'm not going to be able to try to let him out in a few hours. Then he wants to eat and then I go back to bed usually til about noon and he sleeps away with me. I'm up early today and he is sound asleep snoring away beside me on the couch.. I think he thinks I'm in his way! He is a lazy bones!

I also have both. Ikaika (my oldest) likes to sleep in. When my sister lived with me he would just stay in bed with her all morning. Mai'lani on the other hand, is an early riser (like me). She is up with me at 4:30 am Monday - Friday and gets up around 6:30 -7am on Saturday and Sundays.

I think Mai'lani just wants to be by mommy's side. She is my shadow! Ikaika....he looks at me and says, "yeah, right.....I'd rather be under the covers, thank you very much". Though he knows when I get up I take them out...so he does his business and gets right back under the covers.
