Sometimes I think Stokley is laying at the bottom of the bed laughing inside as my husband and I are fanning our noses. Her gas is so bad, you can hear her toot as she walks by! I will definitely try the yogurt this weekend!

We have been giving Mackensie plain fat-free yogurt in her food everyday since she was 6 weeks old, because we had read that it would help with gas. Since we switched recently to Solid Gold Hund N Flocken however, the yogurt does not seem to be working at all!! She is SO gassy, and SO stinky since switching to the Solid Gold, I can only conclude that it is indeed the food. I just read on another thread to try pumpkin. I will literally RUN to the store to get some pumpkin in the morning!

The Solid Gold - Hund-n-Flocken has given my girls very bad gas. I don't think it agrees with boxers. I am going to switch back to Canidae, although the kibbles are a little small.

as you can see this is only my 2nd post, and i'm in stitches with laughter.
So my dog isn't the only one with terrible wind! she's 5yrs old and full of gas that smells so bad, even i'd be proud of it!!
wahaaaaay! there she blows again!

Live yoghurt it is then.
I've gotta try something!

lol...Oh this thread is so cute!!! I'm laughing because Shelby has really bad gas too. She usually does it when she has to go poop, its one of her "signs" so to speak...lol. What kills me is the NOISE it makes..OMG, sounds just like a human. Its so funny, especially when she's "going". People think I'm tapped because I make conversation about it but I don't care...:)

We always mix plain all natural yogurt with their food. We have ran out of yogurt by accident and beacuse it is hard to find in stores here. When we run out, my two smell horrible. We went on vacation a few weeks ago and my mom kept Jasper (BT) and my MIL kept Bella (Boxer), and they both said they have never smelled anything like it, bad gas. They did not believe in the yogurt, they thought I was crazy leaving them each a tub of yogurt. It did not take long for them to follow my directions and use it. It worked and now they understand the importance of adding yogurt to their food.

I find that while yogurt sure helps tame the baseline level of gas, nothing beats a good run for getting the last bit out!

If Riker doesn't get a good run in by mid-day, you can bet you'll have all the windows open later that night!

When he gets to run at the park regularly, he may go 5 or 6 days without ripping one loose for me!

Oh my gosh, this is a gret thread that only we would appreciate! Our boxer Spence, was always passing gas, but he only made a pshhhhh sound. Boy the sound was deceiving. Anyway, I had no idea you could do anything about it or that Boxers were prone to this. So when you talk about adding yogurt to their food, is this added to Kibble? You just stir it in or what? How much and what kind? I know nothing about yogurt, but definitely want to give it a try!

We use Dannon all natural. We add about 1 Tbsp. to Bella's food every meal. Usually, I put just a few drops of warm water on her food as well so it is not cold from the yogurt. Not enough water to soak her food, just so that the yogurt mixes easier.
