I get the same comments all the time about my white boy Finnegan who also has a longer nose than most.

Your baby (like mine) could be 100% boxer but just badly bred, with so many BYB there are lots of boxers that don't come anywhere near the breed standard.

Either way I think you boy is very handsome

His coloring is awsome. That full body side shot really does him justice. Laying like that he really does look full boxer, just the look reminds me of how Sapphire looks when she's sprawled out like that.

Is his jaw undershot? (Lower jaw longer than upper jaw?) My initial guess from looking at the full body shot was that he is not quite purebred, but who knows. We have a couple of poorly bred Boxers in our rescue right now and honestly sometimes it is hard to tell. Like everyone else said, Chopper is certainly very handsome and no doubt draws a lot of attention wherever he goes!

He looks like a boxer to me...poorly bred. His picture is a good example of what BYB's can do to a breed. This kind of breeding unfortunately outnumbers the properly bred dogs and if we are not careful we could begin to lose some of the more important traits we love about boxers.

That being said I think you guys are awsome to rescue this handsome boy and I love his markings. Chopper is just adorable and muscular to boot! Give both your babies lots of hugs & kisses from me!

The ears

I think a lot of the people's comments are probably coming mostly because of the short crop of his ears. They do look like pit bulls ears but who cares??? You love him... and yes, you are thinking about this too much!!

I was playing with Chopper the other day and I looked his teeth over and he does have an underbite. He also has the poor quality teeth that I've seen in a lot of boxers (Rena included-she has epulus.. :( )

He is EXTREMELY smart and he isn't as independent in his thoughts as my girl. She has to be coaxed to do just about anything, but any command Chopper gets, he does it on a dime!

I'm kind of sad to think about him coming from a BYB...his poor parents. It breaks my heart in one way, but overjoys me in another to know that he is/will be loved for the rest of his life in the best possible way!!!
