I think he's boxer

You know a lot of people don't know a thing about boxers. I think that he looks boxer. I have a lot of people think that Shakira is pitbull and she is 100% boxer, but they think pitbull because she is brindle. She has the smooshed in face and there isn't anything but boxer when you look at her. So I agree with everyone else, he is beautiful and he is yours and you love him and the rest of the population that doesn't know a boxer from a pitbull is not worth your time.

I bet you even champion Boxers have been mistaken for pitbulls before. Because of similarities between some breeds, mixed in with the ignorance of a lot of people (not really their fault usually - they don't know either breed very well) it is easy to mistake certain breeds for other ones. I know my little Wilson is 100% Boxer and looks 100% Boxer, but in the 3 weeks plus that I've had him, I have been asked atleast 5 or 6 times if he was a pitbull.

So don't even worry about it hun. Anyway, even if you tell them no he's a Boxer, that will not always put people at ease. Many people who don't know about Boxers think they are agressive just because of their looks. It's a real shame that there is such prejudice against Pitbulls, Boxers and other breeds :(

Just ignore all the ignorant people. You know your baby is a Boxer and you know he's a lovable, sweet boy. We all know it too, and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks!

My honest opinion is that he is a mix, rather than a purebred boxer. I think that primarily because of the shape of his head, especially the muzzle (plus, of course, its length). That's just from looking at a photo, of course As a matter of interest - is his jaw undershot, overshot or a scissor bite?
But I agree, it's the ear crop and colour that makes people think pit bull. None of that matters, of course, if he's got that boxer personality to love :D

I have been told several times that Tyson isn't pure either. I just don't worry about it.

I would say he's definitely all boxer! Longer muzzles are a sign of poor breeding which is why he may have ended up in rescue and lucky enough to end up in your hearts. He is soooo handsome I just want to mush his face and kiss his squishy lips! Thank you so much for providing a home for a rescue. You are definitely special and so is he!

I absolutely love him whether he is purebred or not, :D !!

Another thing I wanted to mention is that when his trainer first saw him, she said that he looked like he came from a really good pedigree and thought that if you would look back, he probably had champion blood lines! He is one of the most gorgeous dogs I've ever met (not being biased, I promise! ) and has a beautiful stance and body shape. When he perks up his tiny ears and tilts his head, he screeeeeeeeeeams boxer! He doesn't woo-woo like my boxer girl, but he is the most cuddly dog ever! My boxer girl has a serious underbite going on (), but Chopper's is not as pronounced. He's got the mushy boxer lips going on though. ...and the gas!

He always buries his head in your lap when you pet him. He did the funniest thing ever a few weeks ago....we were on the floor with our dogs and he came over and laid beside my boyfriend, who began to pet him. As soon as he stopped, Chopper would put his paw right on my boyfriend's forehead until he started petting him again..they went back and forth like this for about 5 minutes...totally cracked me up!!

My Samantha has a long muzzle, too. I have pics of her in my gallery. She, too, came with registration papers, and I was confused like you are. Since being on Boxerworld, I've come to the conclusion that she is a poorly bred boxer. The owners of her parents apparently didn't do any background work of the pedigrees, I think. They just wanted to breed their good-looking boxers together, aka back yard breeders.

She acts all boxer, too, and I love her dearly, long snout and all!

I Hear Ya !

Have I been through it too ! I get so tired of people telling me that mattie is mixed with something. EVERYTHING that she does is a boxer... down to freaking sleeping !! I don't care what anyone says... I am sure that she is a poor breed ... but why do I care? I am not showing her, she was fixed at 5 months, and she is the best dog and absolutely beautiful. She is my boxer baby ! Screw what those people say ! You know that your baby is a boxer and that is ALL that matters ...

He is just so handsome!! I think he looks allot like a boxer just his nose is a little longer... I am sure he is boxer 100%!!
