Is he mixed?? HELP!

Hi, I sympathise with you. Scrappy has a VERY long nose. See my avatar. We adopted him from the Humane Society and were told he is full Boxer, although there is some question of a mix. We don't care. We love him!! The only concern I have is when people ask me if he is pure bred. I say, well, Boxer, or mostly Boxer! We will never know for sure because I'm not going to pursue genetic testing. That would be ridiculous in a dog (neutered) that we are not breeding or showing. I guess if we did agility we would have to figure out whether to put him in the Boxer or mixed breed category. I think that would mean a provisional AKC. I don't know. The important thing is we love him!! Love your dog (VERY CUTE)!!!! and pursue a different breeder if you decide to get another dog. Other Boxerworld members may be able to help you on this one. We always adopt from shelters.

Finally someone who is in the same boat as me!! YEs from the outside our puppies dont look boxer but were both told they were,and your babys nose looks like my Tidus' nose! I do love my pup but i will be honest and say i was dissapointed to learn that he isnt the "breed standard" I dont love him less, but ive always wanted that boxer of my dreams. You puppy is very handsome, and he reminds me of my baby, thank you for posting!!!

He definitely looks like he's mixed. His face looks much like my friends lab/boxer mix. But he's cute regardless. Sorry you got duped.

I also see some lab in him. The Boxer rescue that I work with recently got a 6month old boxer / lab mix & she looked EXACTLY like your pup. Nonetheless your boy is super cute!

LOL yes, those are his siblings, i didnt know you could see them! He on the far left, so you think from the get-go he looked mixed? I guess i deserved it b/c to me he looked boxer :(

Just curious, I've been going nuts on this. I did not see any links to the pics of the siblings or any pics in the gallery, so how did the pics of the sibs show up?

Umm. The links posted by the OP are to a photobucket album - which contains other images, including those of his siblings. It is a simple matter of looking at the other photos in the album, not only the specific one linked. Just the same as you can look at other photos in a boxerworld gallery, not just the specific one linked in a thread.

The first one is him with his sisters bella (dachshund) and Keek the cat. The first pic is the FIRSt night we had him, 8 weeks old, already starting trouble :p

If there was such a thing as a Boxador then yes, it would be a Boxer lab mix, however IMO there isn't, but yes it's one of the "designer dogs".

He is a gorgeous boy no matter what, however, at seven months, his appearance is going to change alot, My male is 2 1/2, the 1st year he was trying to keep up with his legs, after that, he started filling out, He was always somewhat muscular, but the last 6 mos. his head and shoulders have really flattened out and broadened. If you got him from a breeder, hopefully you have papers, If the parents have been dna tested and verified, you can have your little guy tested, and that will tell you if they are his parents. If your guy is registered, you can very easily order a dna kit through the akc website. No matter what, he truley is handsome, and looks very sweet.
