Toby is pretty calm for a Boxer.. I was actually surprised. One of his litter mates was gnawing at me and jumping all around while he was just lying on the side not asking for much attention.

But then again he also gets some of the laziness from me. He does have his spurts where he wants to play and gets hyper and pounces on his toys like a cat. He has done a few Boxer Burns around the apartment during the day to burn some energy.. of course he knocks he runs into 8 different pieces of furniture while doing this..

After a few laps he leaps onto his bed and just collapses.. Its hilarious and cute :)

our Bosce boy is very mellow most of the time. I can get him worked up wrestling with him or playin chase with a laser but the second I say "enough" he calms down. He gets in the "zone" every night around 8:00 on the couch and we have to pry him off to get him to go to bed.

Ms. Babydoll is a pretty chilled out Boxer too. Just as you said, she definitely gets excited when people come in the house, especially if she doesn't know them well, but I always tell everyone not to acknowledge her for about 5 minutes and then she calms down and they can say hello to her without her making a bed out of their lap. After that first five minutes you would think she was another dog completely!! But yeah other than that she's gentle and calm and my boyfriend says she's definitely my dog because like me, she loooves to cuddle up and lounge on the couch, that's what she lives for.

Livvie is too

My Livvie, 5 years old, is very calm and always has been. She does not come to the door or bark when we come home or when we have visitors. She gets a lot of attention and excercise, and I have always thought that helps. But the funny thing is she is very, very athletic and quite the Alpha dog with male Boxers- which she is around a lot.

Lazy?

Hello, I have a 6 month old Boxer named Tyson and I would not call him calm so much as I would call him lazy.
When we first got Tyson he had a UTI. I thought when this was cleared up he would be more energetic. He did perk up some. He loves to play with our other two dogs, but when us mere humans try to play with him he is not very interested. He is most hyper (I use this term loosely) when he first wakes up in the morning, but after he eats breakfast he is his calm self again. He is so lazy that if he is laying in a comfy position and you call him he will sling and scoot himself across the floor to get to you instead of just getting up and walking to you.
I am glad to hear that there are calm boxers out there besides mine, but are any as lazy as mine seems to be?

Meeka is really mellow as well...I work all day....get home she greets us and goes outside runs around the yard for a bit comes in and just hangs out where ever we are, i try and take her out for a walk every night, but if we miss a night it really doesnt seem to affect her, she is still calm and mellow. she is an awesome girl! love her to death. She even takes herself around 10:00 and goes to bed and waits for me...lol...so yes there are others out there...

Our boy Tito is on the list of being incredibly mellow. One unfortunate story but with a happy ending, he managed to get out of our backyard & was hit by a car.
Thankfully an elderly man saw him injured & called the council & they picked him up & took him to the vet. When i finally got to the vet they were in amazement as to how calm he is for a boxer.
They then preceded to tell me how they didn't need to sedate him to x-ray his broken leg, as he just layed there. He did the same when they applied the plaster cast!
He's now a bit of a celebrity at the vet

My Ty is pretty mellow as well....borderline lazy, if you will. But he is a joy to us. He has some health problems now that we are working thru (we got him thru a rescue), so who knows...
