The ABC Code of Ethics used to prevent the sale of white puppies - which some people had interpreted as a need to euthanaise them, and others as a need to give them away. But that's been updated now. The COE, I believe, allows for the sale of whites at a price that does not exceed the cost of producing and raising the puppy.
Since the cost of "producing" a white puppy is exactly the same as producing a coloured puppy, I'm not sure why you'd expect the pup to be sold substantially cheaper, or effectively given away for a donation. The pup may have turned out to be white, but there are still the costs of showing the parents and health-testing them to be recovered, plus veterinary bills and the raising and feeding of the litter. LOL - those costs don't disappear because some of the puppies are white, and it is perfectly ethical for a breeder to sell their white puppies at a cost that reflects those puppies' "share" of those costs. The alternative is to boost the price of the coloured puppies to compensate - and there's no need for that. A white puppy is not "defective", it's just white and will make just as good a pet as any of it's coloured littermates. The single difference is that it can never be breeding stock - but then, 90% of coloured boxers are not (or should not be) be breeding stock either
