I agree with Checkers, so many people have in their heads what is the wrong or right way to raise their Boxer, but I think you should let your dog tell you!!! As far as Boxers NOT being outdoor dogs, I beg to differ... I personally have never met a Boxer that does not like to be outside for extended amounts of time, (except when it is raining of course) my boy Killian a lot of times (when we were in our old house with the fence, we don't have one yet at our new house) would simply refuse to come in a lot of nights, even when it was a bit chilly, and was content to lounge on the deck until he wanted to curl up in his dogloo. Yes, he has a dogloo. If he wanted in, he would so politely knock on the window until we got up to open the door. Our previous boxer Samson would do the same thing. He loved to be "on patrol" so to speak, always alert to what was going on in the neighborhood. I do believe that Boxers need lots of love and attention and to know that they are part of the family, but I believe that people with the knowledge of how to care for their pets just have different ways of doing things, and I believe you will care for and love your dog just as much as the rest of us, even if he is outside some of the time. BUt, you never know, you may decide you would rather listen to him snoring next to you at night....

Best of luck with your new pup, you have so much fun ahead of you!
