Deaf Boxers

I recall reading an article that implied deafness in white boxers had to do with a lack of pigment within the ear. The writer was seeking funds to continue his research I think. Check some of the documentation from the Veterinary School in Lansing Michigan.

I have not personnaly met any deaf boxers, nor have I met any white ones. We're a dark brindle family here.

Completely Boxer Crazy
My husband and I go to dog parks allot, and last night we were at the dog park and there were 4 white boxers! All with different owners, and non were deaf! 11 boxers last night!!! It was the most Ive seen without it being a put together kind of a bash;)
I was talking to one of the lady's with a white boxer, and told her all about boxerworld and how much info there was on here and she said she would check it out as soon as she got home.

I don't own deaf or white or deaf/white Boxer , but I really am interest in hearing about heredibility ( I hope I write it correctly:D ) . Anyway, Boxer is Boxer, whether it is white, coloured, deaf or otherwise have some disease.

Boxer Insane
I recently adopted a white female boxer puppy and she is deaf. I knew when I adopted her she was deaf (that's the reason I took her) I knew she would need a good loving home and I didn't have to think twice about taking her. She is so beautiful. She is learning hand signs and is coming along really good.

I've seen this before - thought maybe it had been updated. I don't see anything new, though, nor anything that hasn't been discussed here ;) And actually, there is some information missing.

I have to wonder why people get so riled up about white Boxers, as I've never heard of this kind of uproar about Dalmatians (a breed in which the Parent Club mandates that bilaterally deaf puppies - which cannot be determined until at least 6 weeks - be euthanized). Perhaps the Dal people are spending their time on reasearch, instead of rhetoric?

MY VOTE

guess I should change my vote since the question asks owned or "known" of a deaf boxer....I do know they're out there I've never met one, yet, though...

maybe another good question would be if you would consider owning one....I would answer yes to that....:) :D
