Poor Bayleigh! I've never heard of that before either. It sounds like the meds may be helping. Please keep us posted as to what the vet says!

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear about Bayleigh - poor baby girl! And poor mom! :( I see we don't have to convince you to spoil her ;) Sending lots of healing and positive thoughts her way - I don't know anything about this condition, but hope it's something that can be controlled by medication, diet, and that it will go away in time. Please keep us posted. Hugs to you and Bayleigh.

I heard from the vet on Friday. The coagulation test came back negative for rh factor. Her platelet count was on the low side but there was some clotting. The vet is still thinking thrombocytopenia. The autoimmune panel results were not back on Friday. I am planning to call the vet Monday to check the results.

We are struggling with the side effects of the meds. Please send us some positive healing vibes.

<<<<<<<<positive healing vibes>>>>>>>> I found when Austin was first on pred the side effects were tough, but as their bodies get used to the meds the side effects subside.

Not such good news?

It has been 2 weeks since I took Bayleigh to the vet. She is still on prednisone and doxycyline. In April, she weighed 70 pounds at her yearly check. 2 weeks ago, she weighed 65. I thought she was looking a little thin. I took her in just to check her weight and she has lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks on prednisone! 60 pounds is a good weight for her but the rapid loss is alarming. The receptionist pulled her file to mark her weight and grabbed a vet tech. After reviewing her file, the vet tech told the receptionist to get Bayleigh in tomorrow morning even if it meant someone else had to wait. We go at 11am.

I have not changed her food or the amount she is fed. She probably gets more treats now than before. She eats every meal like it's her last. So now she will get a little extra in her bowl at least til we figure out what's wrong.

I am so worried...what is going on with my baby?

I'm sorry to hear about Bayleigh's weight loss, and glad you are able to get her in to the vet tomorrow morning. Lots more healing and positive thoughts and vibes going out to Bayleigh, and I hope the vet can pinpoint the cause. I know how worried you are not knowing what's going on with Bayleigh, that is perfectly natural. Sending you hugs. We're here for you and your sweet girl.
