Thank you everyone, for your kind words and support. Somehow I am keeping it together, I think being at work is helping me...as it doesn't seem real. But I know that it is. I know that Herkie is going to be my saving grace throughout all of this...and of course BW. I just thank my lucky stars that Herkie listened to me, and I was able to get him back inside...otherwise. Also, it would have been horrible for him to have seen such a thing. So right now, he just knows something is wrong with Mama, and knows Kuma isn't there.
JulieP.....I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for your loss of Magic as well. I visit Rainbow Bridge on a regular basis...so I don't know how I missed her story! And even though my day has been so dark, the pic of Magic in the sweatshirt just made me smile....she really looked like ET!
I went and lit a candle for my Kuma-kuma....oh how my heart aches.

im so terribly sorry for your lost.. i cringed to open this thread, scared to see what may have happened to your beautiful boy. :( my heart goes out to you.. we're sending ((((((HEALING VIBES)))))) your way. God Speed Kuma.. you will be greatly missed.

Oh Jessica, I am so sorry about Kuma. Growing up, I had a Husky that looked just like him, but she was a reddish brown. Those Huskies like to wander and love to run when chased. Our girl would "get loose" by accident, as happened with Kuma and I was always a nervous wreck.

I read this in disbelief...I just posted not two days ago to your post in the pictures forum and now beautiful Kuma is gone. I witnessed a puppy hit by a car when I was a child and it has never left me...please know I am praying for you & Herkie. If there is anything at all I can do let me know, I am here.
I am sure for Kuma all was instant and he never stopped running, making it all the way to the bridge to join in the play.

Tonight is my 1st night without you here. I am so saddened by what happened to you today. We've been through sooo much together, I thought I had lost you before, only to have you back in my arms again. Please forgive me Kuma, I hope you felt no pain. Remember to behave nicely at the bridge, I know you are a ladies man, your beautiful blue eyes will mesmerize all the girls
....Try to be nice to SmokeyCat...and don't chase her too much. I know you just like to tease her, but she gets so mad at you when you do it too much. Herkie is looking for you, and he knows I'm sad, so he's trying to be a little extra goofy to take my mind off things. Yes, him and Cuz, have been having at it! Don't forget my sing-song, try to remember it every night before you sleep. Kuma-Kuma-kuma-kumaaaa! What am I going to do without you? You know Herkie is a handful, but his kisses are so different from yours, and he doesn't dance with me, or sing with me like you do! Remember Charlie? My daddy's dog....he'll be there with you soon...so show him the ropes. I hope you don't think I failed you Kuma, I didn't mean to leave the door open! I know how you love to run, it's your most favorite thing in the world to do. You knew Mama was going to buy a house this summer, a house with a nice back yard for you & Herkie. I wish you could have waited to run in your yard....but I understand, your call to run was stronger than anything else. Please watch over Herkie and keep him safe and healthy, it's just me and your big brother now...so you've got to watch over us. Run Kuma, chase those squirrels, and the catbirds....and just think...now you can run after those geese I would never let you chase in "the glen". Run baby, run. For now, you'll be forever safe.
