Im so Furious!!!!!!

I just watched the news, and the story came across that a sheriff shot a boxer in self defence. A NINE MONTH old boxer in self defence, he said it "lunged" at him....I have never known any nine month old dog to attack someone. The owner said he ran after him to get attention, which sounds like a boxer. She said that he (the dog) put his head up to his leg to nudge him to pet him, and the owner called to the sheriff that she would come and get him, and he took out his gun and shot him in the head! On the camera, the sheriff just immediatly turned around and shot him, and the owner was there like not even two seconds later...I am so MAD. I got goosebumps, and started crying...I wouldnt be able to make a statement to the news after something like that happened to my baby. I would be yelling, and bawling, and that sheriff would have WISHED that my dog would have bit him. I swear I would be in jail right now if I was the owner. GRRRRR....I needed to vent..sorry. Just the other day I saw news footage about an officer shooting a family pet when it got loose during a traffic stop I think. But I think it was a black shepherd. I was so pissed when I saw it. The officer even had a hold of the leash, I just think he could have done something else to stop the dog than shoot it. It is just so sad.

I have to agree with Vela...i KNOW i would end up in jail because i would attack anyone trying to hurt my babies....I am passionately in love with my kids...and they ARE my kids....it is one of my worst fears what was just described in the initial thread! God Bless the family

that is absolutely HORRIBLE!! mark and i agree we would end up in jail, too! mark usually doesn't get mad about things like this but he just got really mad. we hope that this guy doesn't get away with it because from what it sounds like, it had nothing to do with self defense out of fear that the dog was going to attack!

That just makes me so mad. My Duke's dad got shot by a cop. TWO TIMES!! Woody was just standing there and the cop said that he was running at him and he shot him two times in the SIDE! Can you tell me how it is that Woody was running at the cop and yet he got shot in the side? Woody survived. Its amazing that he did, but he made a full recovery. This cop didnt get in any trouble either. Makes me so mad!!

when it comes to dogs, police officers I guess just think they can get away with it...I am still hurt over this. I cannot believe it.
My dog (schnauzer) attacked someone that came in my home while no one was home (maintenence man) I got in trouble for it, because he bit through his pant leg and broke the skin. I got furious and said "I had no idea he was coming in, and niether did my dog, my dog was JUSTIFIED to bite him, and I DARE you to file suit on it, because I would be in the right" They said nothing more about it. Not one word. My dog was protecting his home. THAT is justified. This incident was NOT.

What a terrible thing. My fiance and I agree that if anyone ever hurt Brinks there would be a HUGE price to pay ( especially since Kory is a 280pnd division one football player). People dont understand these dogs are like our kids! How awful that the owner had to see it! GRRR makes me mad!
