I'm sorry I just caught this thread. Your mom is such a fighter! Sounds like you take after her :) I believe your brother was there that day, too. Is there anyone she's still waiting to visit her or talk to? Just curious because people can be so strong in tough times when they have their mind set on something. I'll be praying for your mom and your family. I hope she passes peacefully when her time comes. angelicon

Yes, my mom is a fighter and always has been. She had to be strong, times weren't always easy and she has been the only living member of her own family for over 40 years. All her family died young and her only sister died at 41 yrs old after having an aneurysm. I guess things like that run in families as my brother died at 42 yrs.old. Yes, I believe that my brother and sister have visited her. She talks a lot about them and about people that are dead for years. She says that they were in her room talking to her. Who knows. It could be the meds or as I like to believe - the spirts of our loved ones are always close by and we just have to call on them when we need them. You know my sister waited for me before she died. She lived in the U.S. and I arrived at her house at 8:30 p.m. and although she was close to dying she knew I was there and she shook her head when I told her I was there. I did it twice just to make sure and she shook her head again. She died at 3:30 a.m. She waited for me. I will never believe anything different.

I believe they wait for loved ones to visit and they also know when deceased friends/family are in the room with them. And I've also heard several dying people talk about seeing the bright lights. My grandma and another relative both talked about the lights blinding them because they were so bright, and both passed soon after. Kinda odd how things work out in the end. How is your mom doing now? Still hanging in as well as she was the other day?

I too firmly believe that we are never alone when it is time to pass, and that our loved ones that have gone before are there, waiting to take us 'home' with them. I know that when my nan was dying, she was holding conversations with my grandfather, who had died years before, and it was as if he was in the room with her...she could also 'see' lots of things that I couldn't. It was so comforting to me to think that she wouldn't be making her final journey alone, and I found myself talking to my grandad, asking him to help her, and to take care of her.
I am so glad that you are going to take a break to have lunch with your friends, as you need to be able to relax a little. I will continue to keep you and your mum in my thoughts.

I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard,
I felt the answer in my heart,
Although he spoke not a word,
I didnt ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind,
I asked for priceless treasures rare, Of a more lasting kind,
I prayed that He'd be near to you, At the start of each new day,
To grant you health and blessings,
And friends to share your way,
I asked for happiness for you,
In all things great and small,
But that you'd know his loving care,
I prayed the most of all.

Britbox: Thank you for that lovely prayer and being so kind to take the time to type it. I appreciate this board so much. Every chance I have I come to check on my posts. It is so nice to hear from people that you don't know that truly care. Thank you again.

Luvenmyboxer: Thanks for your concern too and for everyone else who's made it easier for me these difficult days. I spent the morning with mom and she was'nt good. She slept and opened her eyes once in awhile. Her temp. keeps going up and that makes her sleep more. As well the angina pain that she gets makes it very uncomfortable for her. Sometimes her blood pressure is too low to give nitro. but she gets moraphine and oxygen all the time The doctor was called in this a.m. and said there are two small nodules on her neck. Her breathing was irregular. It's all a part of the dying stage but my mom is taking her time. She told the nurse this a.m. that it was time for her to die now. But you know, she woke up just before lunch and I fed her dinner to her. These days have been very difficult but it is all part of life and noone in this world gets away free. I have many happy memories of my mom and me over the years. She was there for me when I needed her and I will be there for her now. I am so fortunate to have so many good people that I can come to and share my sadness with. Thank you all once again. God Bless.

I am continuing to keep you and your mum in my prayers daily... This is so heartbreaking for you and your family, the only consolation is that you have all been able to be with her right through this, and have been able to say all the things that you want to, and let her know just how very much she is loved....We are all here to listen whenever you want to talk, and we are all with you in spirit. God bless, and lots of hugs to you and your dear mum.

I Will Remember You in My Prayers!

I am so sorry that you are going through this very sad and traumatic time. I do not know how it will affect me when it is time for my Mother to go to the other side. The only comfort it gives me is that I know she will have many family members waiting for her and it will be a very joyous occasion for her.

The Making Of A Mother

By the time the Lord made mothers, He was into the sixth day working overtime. An Angel appeared and said "Why are you spending so much time on this one?"
And the Lord answered and said, "Have you read the spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not elastic; have 200 movable parts, all replaceable; run on black coffee and leftovers; have a lap that can hold three children at one time and that disappears when she stands up; have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart; and have six pairs of hands."
The Angel was astounded at the requirements for this one. "Six pairs of hands! No way!" said the Angel.
The Lord replied, "Oh, it's not the hands that are the problem. It's the three pairs of eyes that mothers must have!"
"And that's on the standard model?" the Angel asked.
The Lord nodded in agreement, "Yep, one pair of eyes are to see through the closed door as she asks her children what they are doing even though she already knows. Another pair in the back of her head are to see what she needs to know even though no one thinks she can. And the third pair are here in the front of her head. They are for looking at an errant child and saying that she understands and loves him or her without even saying a single word."
The Angel tried to stop the Lord "This is too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish."
"But I can't!" The Lord protested, "I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can feed a family of six on a pound of hamburger and can get a nine year old to stand in the shower."
The Angel moved closer and touched the woman, "But you have made her so soft, Lord."
"She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."
"Will she be able to think?" asked the Angel.
The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason, and negotiate."
The Angel then noticed something and reached out and touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like You have a leak with this model. I told You that You were trying to put too much into this one."
"That's not a leak." the Lord objected. "That's a tear!"
"What's the tear for?" the Angel asked.
The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her disappointment, her pain, her loneliness, her grief, and her pride."
The Angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything for this one. You even created the tear!"
The Lord looked at the Angel and smiled and said, "I'm afraid you are wrong again. I created the woman, but she created the tear!"
