IL-FosterBoxers need forever homes...

We will be fostering 2 boxers, a white male, 2 years old, and a mahogany female, 1-2 years old, starting today. We are fostering for a shelter we work closely with, and will be temperament testing with other dogs, cats and people. The male was a stray, left behind to wander the streets, and the female was an owner surrender. We will have pictures available and will know more about disposition and housetraining once we acclimate them to our home. They will both be altered, vaccinated and heartworm checked, started on a preventative if they test negative. We live in Southern, IL near the KY and IN borders and can help with transport if needed once they are ready for adoption. Contact us at Selkie's Song Animal Sanctuary and we will answer all inquiries once we know more. Thanks!

White male here, female still at shelter...

We opted to bring the white male boxer here and the female is still at the shelter. She showed some signs of aggression and they are going to work with her a bit as we have our own furkids here as well, 8 of them to be exact. The male is doing well, gets along great with other dogs and he is a handsome guy. He appears to be maybe a Boxer/American Bulldog mix as he still has his tail and his ears were left natural. He is a big guy, really affectionate, and is only about a year old. Very much a Boxer play attitude and has just settled in already quite nicely. Very respectful of the other dogs. He is scheduled to be neutered on Tuesday the 10th as well as vaccinated and health checked. I have many pics available, and will post some on my picture page on this site. We are calling him "Arff Grrfunkel" for now...:)

Illinois...

We are in the Southernmost tip of Illinois, near the KY and IN borders, in a sleepy Southern town. We have a 36 acre farm here, which is simply full of furkids and smiles. We have worked with many rescues here, fostering and helping place dogs. Life is pretty rewarding, having all these wonderful kids cross our path and find their forever homes!

Your link for the website wouldn't work for me. Maybe it was a temporary thing but I'd really like to have it as I hope to get a rescue one day and there does not seem to be any organized rescues in Oklahoma, at least not that I've found. Does your organization allow Oklahoma placement?

i can't adopt at this time but in the near future i will for sure,i did contact midwestboxer by e-mail a few weeks ago asking if i could do anything to help i got a reply saying the contact person no longer had a computer, but i will try again i'll use your link

thanks ann

That is very odd? All the rescues have email and many of the volunteers do as well. Cedar Valley Boxer rescue is the only rescue I know of where the coordinator does not have email in the area.

Try the link again or the emails listed on that site.
