I believe that does require a permit from the dupage forest preserve. here is an section form their website:."

Yes, I just called and checked. The website I got the info from yesterday didn't have a symbol for permit required. Oh well, I'd be more then willing to go to a fenced in park.

Saturday- Tomorrow morning

Hi Everyone,

We had a change of plans for this weekend so now I'm planning on going to the Glen Ellyn Park tomorrow morning around 11am.
(as long as it's not snowing or freezing cold.....!)

If anyone would like to come Lennox would love a boxer buddy to run around with!

Question for everyone...

Does anyone know if there is a rule about non-neutered dogs at the dog parks ? We couldn't neuter Rocco at 6 months because of past health issues. He's healthy now and will be having surgery in April. I hate to miss out on the play dates...anyone know if there is a rule at the parks ? I was at Mayslake and they said it was ok. He's not aggressive at all...in fact when we went into the park, he just stood there and let the other dogs come up and smell him.

No there are no rules regarding neutering. They just say to not bring you dog if it is in heat or in poor health. The ones that required permits generally require proof of current vaccinations tho. Glen Ellyn is free (no permit) and has no posted rules.

Lake County parks

Hi everyone. Lake County has a great system of super cool dog parks. They do require a permit, but if you are visiting and don't want to buy a permit (in county $45, and I am not sure but I think out of county is $75 don't quote me) you can fill out a daily permit at the park for $8.00. We're in Grayslake if anyone wants to meet up next weekend. The park in Wauconda is enormous...really it takes an hour to walk the perimeter of the fenced in park! And if your Boxer loves the water, the park in Libertyville is fabulous it has beaches all around a small lake. If anyone is interested let me know.

Diesel2002: Where exactly is the park in Libertyville and do we need a permit to play there? Lennox LOVES water and I mean LOOOVES, I can't wait to take him to the beach. Last summer we went to the doggie beach in Lake Bluff a lot! Have you ever been there?

My Tessa's a nut. She went swimming @ Pratt Wayne yesterday. It was nice meeting Ozzie there. We also met Guiness' dogwalker. It was so cute. The dogwalker was commenting about her weekday charge named Guiness that looked like Ozzie, and after a short while we realized that we were talking about Tessa's boyfriend! Small world eh?!!

So when is the next boxer bash? It sure is nice out and it seems to stay daylight longer...

Mayslake

I think Rocco and I are going to head over the Mayslake in a few hours. We aerated our lawn so our yard is a mess and Rocco needs to play! I'm sure it's muddy over there too but our yard needs a break !
