I'm also a mastiff fan - to me they look like great big boxers! I also like Weimerieners (not a chance that is even close to the correct spelling!) because I think their personalities are fun and active and I love their color. I haven't done much research on them, though, because I've never seriously considered getting anything other than a boxer. I'd have a hard time with a long, pointy snout, though. Just doesn't look right!

Life without boxers???? AUGHHHH
Ok i guess if there were no boxers i would think about getting a Bull Mastiff or an american Bull Dog.
In the movie See Spot Run, they had either a bull mastiff or american bull dog and it was so CUTE, looked like a boxer a little bit :)

I would go with about any bull-faced dog. But if there were none of those maybe and Indonesian Ridgeback. I may buy a bull mastif someday myself. I might need a bouncer someday to keep my proprty even safer.

The English Bulldog. When growing up in England a school friend of mine had one , her name was Penelope , so when she was outside and they called her all you could hear was 'Pe-pe, come here Pe-pe'! She was a lovely cuddly dog, and we used to laugh the way she would come up to you, even if you didn't see her you could hear her, snorting along, she sounded like a little pig sometimes. :D

I would have to agree w/ lexismum. The Staffordshire terrier is a beautiful dog!! I also like Boston terriers, Great Danes, American English and French bulldogs, Bullmastifs, the list could go on for a while!!! I think I am just a dog lover! I would have one of each if I could afford it!!!!
