u guys r so inventive!! I never would have thought to put YOGURT in the middle!:P what i do, is my dog oscar LOVES alpo cheew-eeze they r good 4 his tteth and keep him happy and busy! well, any way, he is also a BIG fan of peanut butter. so, I smear peanut butter along the treat, and put bits of meat, treats, buscits, or even KIBBLE on it, and it occupys him 4 hours! but always makesure they have access to water, if the kong or treat contains peanut butter, as it tends to make them thirsty!:o

Freezing it is the best!! (IMO)

The Kong website even uses freezing as a suggestion.
Since its been hot lately, I'll plug up Harleys Kong with PB or Cheese and pour in chicken broth or beef broth (low sodium on both) and then freeze it. I stand it in a cup (small side down) so it doesnt tip over. Harley LOVES this!!

WARNING: be sure to give a frozen broth (or any forzen liquid) kong to your pup OUTSIDE as it WILL make a mess indoors. My Hubby found this out the hard way last weekend!! Thank goodness it was only in the kitchen!!

OK I found what works best so far. I line the kong with PB then put apples in the top plugging the hole then I put in a layer of PB then dog treat pieces, then a layer of cream chease then more apples then PB to plug the large end then freeze for an hour or so and he is going nuts

I have to agree that the name Lucy is a great name for a boxer. I have a lucy and the name fitts her great. She is going to be 10 months at the end of the month. I all so am away from the house, when I am at work. She loves her kong!!! I tired leaving her out most of the day, but by mid afternoon she is very bored and she gets in to things that she is supose to. She is so funny because seh knows this. When I come in the house after work, she goes and hides behind the couch and gives mom the look. She is one very special dog, Love her to pieces. The couple that I bought her from liked the name Lucy and they said it is cute because she red "fawn".

I know this is an old thread, but thanks for the idea of yoghurt! I tried it last night on Kostya and he absolutely loved it.

I left him this morning with some in his Kong and he forgot all about me leaving!
