I think you should do it. You seem to already have your mind made up. I paid $15 per half hr. to have a woman who owned an at home pet visiting service come into my home and play with Rommel.
She would work on his training and play with him. Sometimes she would bring her own dogs (I permitted it) to help socialize him with other dogs.
I used to work long hours and he'd be crated alot. I felt so guilty, I probably would have paid more. Now that I work closer to home, I don't need the service routinely like before but she still comes over as needed if I'm gone for an overnight.
She was also a certified trainer, certified in pet CPR/first aid, and bonded. (She had a key to my house.) All that helped me pick her.
