I need help fast...

Hello everyone,what a great board.

I found a boxer over at my friends a week ago. Nuetered male,brindle,very large. I have had boxers for over 10 years. I had a male his size and he was a big baby. I brought him home because they would not keep him and he was going to get hit by a car. They live on a major highway. I am surprised he made it across the highway to us.

So I tried to bring him in my home and things were not to bad until two of mine were wrestling as I was letting them out the back door into the backyard and he turned around and bit me. I have never had a boxer do this and I think he may have thought I was being mean to one of the others who was making so much noise. My ten year old white male does not like him being here at all.

I have a small grandson who is here alot and I am afraid for him to be around him now.

I have him in a heated kennel that runs into our garage so he is safe and warm but I am sure lonely. My DH gets him out and walks him and plays with him,but it is not fair to him.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do with him. He deserves a good home with a family to love.

I have hung posters,called vets,radio stations,newspapers and even people I know who have had boxers to see if anyone has been looking for him. Nothing. I am afraid he may have been dumped. Maybe someone thought he was too agressive. He would be perfect in a calmer home I am sure. He also seems to love men more then women. I probably would not trust him around children for awhile just to see how he was going to be.

There are several reputable Boxer Rescues in your area (Ohio/Kentucky/Indiana). Since we're not allowed to name them on here, you'll have to do an internet search for them. I rescued my Johnny-B from the one out of Kentucky, but I'm sure any one of them would be happy to help you & this sweet boy.

Whatever you do please do not take him to a shelter.

Just wondering how things worked out he might have bit because he is in a new situation and thought it was a dog behind him. Did you contact your local boxer rescue?

where abouts in Ohio are you? A friend of mine just asked me the other day to keep an eye out for a male boxer roaming around as a friend of his is missing thier pet in north east ohio.

I still have him but I have to keep them seperated. I have a kennel and a fenced back yard,so I rotate and keep one in the laundry room at night.

I have talked to boxer rescue but at the moment they do not have any openings.

I am in SW Ohio. East of Cincinnati.

Wish I could find him a good home. I posted about finding him on petfinder but no hits.

i likve close to SW ohio. i am close to harrison, but live in west harrison...i have a posting on craigslist looking for a male boxer posted today. check it out. i have been looking for a male to be handed to me. i lost nikita last august, chloe is lonely, my husband is really leary of getting a new boxer because chloe is so calm and awesome! but i would be open to taking him for now to find him a home. let me know whats going on, how he behaves, all that good mumbo. did you see if he is microchipped?
