I just read through your whole thread, and I'm not even sure what to say other than that I am so very sorry that you all have had to deal with this situation in the first place. Though I can't imagine how your heart is breaking, know that you did everything in your power to keep Maci and then to find her the best home possible. I send you MANY hugs and well wishes. I am so sorry you have had to go through this--what an ordeal. I know it was an awful decision to make, but what is the most important is making sure your daughter and yourself are in a safe, healthy environment away from your abusive, alcoholic partner. It is also probably better for Maci to be out of that situation, it is just too bad she couldn't stay with you, I know. I am sure the rescue will find her a good home, try not to be too hard on yourself. Concentrate on taking care of you and your daughter for now--I wish you the very best!
