My Cletus is so rotten & has me very well trained! He will not drink his water if it falls below a certain level or if it has anything in it, heaven forbid! So he sits in front of his water bowl & barks til I come & get him fresh water! Do any of your babies have funny little quirks like Cletus, or am I the only one?

Ronin has a quirk about his water dish too, although his thing is he simply won't drink out of it. I put fresh, cold water in it every day, but it's just not good enough for him. He would much rather drink out of the toilet. Yes, I know: GROSS, but I keep the things really clean because of his water bowl preference :) To sum it up, he definitely has me trained :D

Yeah, have one of those cat's too, although he won't lean down and drink. Instead, he just sticks his paw in the water and drinks from his paw. He's 16 yrs old though, so he can do whatever he wants regarding water. :)

I'm a push over & let mine do these things too, just glad they are drinking. Thats why I jump when Cletus barks.

Diesel prefers the toilet too even over fresh iced dogbowl water  Ok so who's going to invent the first flushable dog bowl and make $millions

They are probably drinking the toilet water because its much cooler than the water thats been sitting in their bowls :) I make sure all the toilet lids are down. Having a little one in the house did that to me. Ohh that and the show I saw that demonstrated all the crap (no pun) that flies in the air if you flush the the lid up.. I have trained everyone in the house to make sure to flush when the lid is down..keeping all the bacterias, nasties IN the bowl and not flying all over the bathroom.

I find my kitties licking the toilet tank..nomally when the tank is "sweating"..

I wouldn't want to drink water thats warm and has stuff in it either. I don't think your babies are spoiled or neurotic..just "humanized"

I dump the water in the bowl around every hour or so (I have the ability to do it since I work from home) or if I see "floaties" in it. My pups don't have access to any other water in the house (ie toilet water etc) so its drink the water thats down or dehydrate :)

Biff

We couldn't get Biff to drink much water until we swapped his plastic bowl for a stainless steel one!

He's too wee to reach the toilet yet
