Friday morning I was running late for work and I was not in the best of moods. I get to the stop sign just a few blocks away from my house and look over to see a BOXER boy!!! He was fawn with natural ears and a white beard and he was grinning ear to ear. I rolled down my window and told the ladies walking him how beautiful he was. I told them I had a baby boxer girl at home and inquired about their dog's age. They told me that he was 7 years old and that I will be happy because boxers have such a great disposition. I told him that he was stunning, but I had to go since I was holding up traffic, but that just totally made my day!! I can't believe I have never seen him before since they were so close. This was the first boxer sighting I have had in forever. The week after we got Bella our town had it's yearly mardi-gras doggy-parade. We took Bella to try to socialize her. We were just leaving because she was still little and seemed very tired when these people started yelling, "Boxer....Boxer...Boxer," from on outside table at one of the pubs. I look over and see a table of people waving at us. We walk over and see that they had 3 adult boxers there. They started freaking out and saying, "you have to bring the boxer puppy over.....we are the boxer people!!" We had a long chat and met their dogs. It was so cool. Since then, we have not seen another boxer in town. I just realized that seing another boxer makes me happier than it really should. I mean it really makes my day. I almost feel silly about it, but I kinda think some of you will understand. Tell me about some of you boxer sightings. Do you get as exited as I do when you meet another boxer??

Yes, right here, we are guilty of being totally and extremely over joyed when we see a Boxer. We scream and shout to make sure everyone in a 5 foot radius hears us. Then we make fools out of ourselves by running right over to the Boxer to get some lovins.lovicon I always have to shout to my kids (because they are always way ahead of me when we spot a Boxer) to remember to ask permisson to pet it first, then pet it on it's back. Other people must think we are crazy, but honestly who cares!:p I think since we don't have a Boxer yet, we get more excited than most.

I did the same thing the other day... i stopped traffic to yell to a woman who was walking her 2 boxers..one was a male fawn puppy who had just had his ears done and the other was a brindle with natural ears....i told her how beautiful they were and said i had a puppy at home!!! hehe:D

My hubby and I are guilty of doing that too. We always have to go see the boxer and pet him/her. The other day we saw one riding in the sidecar of a motorcycle and it pulled into a local motel. I told hubby lets so see him. The boxer's "dad" had already went into the motel so we waited in our pickup until he came back out, so as not to frighten the boxer sitting there all by himself. When his dad came back out, we approached him and asked if we could pet him, etc. They were from Washington state (that's a long ride to ND).
He was just beautiful.

Yup we do it too. :D Actually, Ive only see a few other boxers besides our friends'. We were riding over the Pass (Snoqualmie Pass) and there they were! We didnt have our baby then, so it was even more exciting. They were flashy fawn, and had the boxer "smile" from ear to ear on. They were playing outside of a building, and the owner must have been inside or out of sight cuz we didnt see them. :( And then a week or so ago we went to the Rennaisance fair in Gig Harbor and there was this house with a bunch of fawn boxers outside playing in the yard, we all went crazy. Then we saw one in the back of the car once, also a fawn. We all were yelling "Boxer!!" But I dont think the driver heard us. I love seeing other peoples babies, I wish more people in my neighborhood had some. Tuppence has found that other dogs just don't play like boxers do. :(

I rarely see boxers on our walks, except the usual ones we see while they are in their yards. I've only seen one boxer in Mesquite on a leash in the 16 months I've had Rowdy, and we walk 5-6 hours/week. I always have to stop and see the other boxers, especially at dog parks.

Guilty here too!!! :)
I live in a small town but there is increasingly more and more boxers I've noticed. Hubby and I got excited watching the repeat of the Westminster Dog Show, a flashy fawn girl placed 3rd, should have been 1st in my prejudice opinion lol.

This morning we were at the new dog park in Plano with Baron and Sadie. They were having an "ok" time, playing with the labs and goldens when in walked a "boxer baby" and they both went crazy. Come to find out, HANK (isn't that a great name) was a 2 yr old fawn male, big guy (about 75 lbs) and the three of them had a GREAT TIME playing for about 45 minutes. Baron and Hank were up on their back legs doing the boxer thing, rolling and tumbling and having so much fun. It was just too hot and we had to leave but we shared with Hank's dad about BoxerWorld and he promised to come to our "Bash" the end of September.

There are just a few Boxers that come to the park and we have just one in the neighborhood but it is always fun when you meet a new owner and you are immediately friends because all of us love our "boxer babies" so very much.

Good luck to all . . . have a great and safe summer.

I always get excited when I see another boxer. I will stop the car and say hello, and usually end up having a long conversation with the owner and end up becoming late for wehatever errand i was suppossed to be doing!

I think the excitement is just part of being boxer parents. I get so excited whenever I see another boxer around town. I don't see them nearly often enough. We have one that lives down the street from us and everytime I pass his yard I'm hoping that he'll be out. :D
