Doesn't it control heartworms?

Not questioning your reasons but ivormectin is in the medication for heartworm protection, what do you use instead as I am interested in a natural approach?

Sorry it took so long

I have finals in a week and a half so between that ans christmas I have been so busy! Okay here goes, . . . I rub the olive oil mostly on the bald spots but at first we were rubbing it every where because he was thinning all over! As far as ivermectin in heart medicine yes, it is for heart worms but in a very high dose every day! don't ask me how it treats demodex as I am unsure but according to the vet it does! Just to clear the air a little I am not entirely hollistic! I do believe that there are some medications that are very important and when used in conjunction with certain aspects of hollistic care like nutrition the two can complement each other! I agree with the combo...I'm not a total hollistic person at all...actually new to it...but i have to say it looks like we have fur growth...don't know if it's the seameal that quickly or if it's running it's course...but I'm not stopping!!!

So Why was your little one gulping snow? Did you ever figure that one out?? Any way I have to agree that We are seeing tons of hair growth! I even mixed an even amount of peanut butter with sea meal and in the morning I give Tyson a treat with a Tea spoon full on it! He loves it! I have to say though that after dinner the fish breath is terrible! yuck! Well any way here is to combating the demodex! appicon let us know how it is going!

I think you made a great decision. Sometimes parents know better then anyone else how to care for their babies. Sounds like he's doing great, and I'm real happy for him.

Well...we halved the seameal dose and no more midnight calls...maybe it was too much for him?! I am pretty definite I see hair growth...SO excited!!!!!! I can not wait for all of this to be over...then he can get neutered!!! yea!!!

appicon congrats!!!! appicon what kind of food are you feeding him?? AND what about shampoo?? We have this sulfur based shampoo that the SPCA gave us!?! Don't know that it does any good but we use it any way!

I am just using an oatmeal shampoo and he's eating Chicken Soup...but I bought Kirkland Chicken and Rice... so I'm thinking of mixing those two.

What kind of food is that? Have you thought too that there maybe something in the food your feeding him?? I have found since we switched to a better food both my babies have been doing better! less eye boogers shiny coats firm poops they eat less!?! I am a new mom so everything is a challenge and an amazement to me!
so hows the fur growth comming along??? I had the kids outside playing yesterday and i saw that while Tyson hair is coming back way softer he still has a lot of thin spots!! ARGH!

It seems to really be new hair...I wasnt sure but I can see some longer ones...I am still finding new spots (at the beginning stage when they are red bumps) but only a couple so I think it's slowing down. He just looks not great, very thin hair in a lot of places... I am just a little worried since we have to go to Florida for christmas and leave him home with friends... I hope it doesn't regress...
