ROMMEL'S MOM
Boxer Buddy
I can understand any anxiety you may be feeling. It was all new to me too. With all the info the breeder gave me, I'm sure she told me about boxer's predispositions to hystiocytomas.
If it makes you feel any better, Rommels lump tripled in a matter of a couple weeks too. I had to research hystiocytomas after the vet gave me the lab results. Her office never informed me that it's something that could "go away" on its own. She just wants the 350.00 to remove it.
Well, it's gone. Rommel doesn't have the lump anymore.
From my personal experience, it started as what a wart looks like, on the side of his paw. It grew and grew, until it started to bleed. That's when it starts to break down. A hystiocytoma can appear for 6-8 weeks. If it hasn't "run its course" by 8 weeks, they recommend having it surgically removed.
It appears, grows, bleeds, shrinks away. It's the oddest thing. I'm just grateful they're not painful or malignant.
Hope the info helped. I can't tell you what a relief BW is for me, especially as a new boxer mommy.
