My boy is only 5 months old now and is not drooling at all......at what age did everyones babies start? I sure do hope I have a good amount of time :rolleyes:

Gunner and Sammy aren't really full time droolers, but after they eat or drink, WOW. Besides that kibble that trickles out of their lips on the way thru the house, there is all that excess water and foam, and shmeary stuff. What is really gross is Gunner is taller than Sammy and she is always walking around with a big string of this yuk on her head or back....eeeew, .

Everybody is just mentioning food and water. My problem with Jesse is, in the morning she gets big eye goobers. Well.... while I am still in bed she will rub her face on my neck and when I get up I will find her goobers on my skin and in my hair. Yuck!!!!

Ooooooh yeaaaaaaa eye boogers....... I have gotten to work and found them on my pants, they can actually look like you coughed up flem specks and didn't notice, really gross to have someone else say, "Eeeew, what is that?"

Dang, we must be a crazy bunch! So nuts about our doggies to deal with this stuff and never once think it isn't worth it all! Weeeell, maybe you folks who's doggies ate your couches might have thunk it for a minute....

This thread has me cracking up - it's so good to share all the wonderful experiences - the slobber and streaks (I don't have a single coat or jacket without something smeared on the sleeves!), the bubbles (I love those!), the kibble through the house, and yes, those fabulous eye boogers! If I don't get them off Mason before we go on our morning walk, I'll look down and he'll have two streaks of them down his face, like he's been booger tears!! With his eyes and the state of my clothes, we make quite a pair!

I wouldn't have it any other way - I adore my messy pup so much!

Oh yes, the eye goobers too, ha ha ha. I forget about them. I used to wipe them out every morning. I don't anymore. Too funny. I guess because Samson cleans himself like a cat every morning. He rubs his paws on his face and licks the sides of his paws. Gross but cute.

I am not sure when the "slobbers" started. Delilah is 5 months old and isn't slobbering. When she comes near, and touches me with her mouth (you know the drive-by slobbers), I notice a wet spot but it isn't like Samson's (gotta grab a wrag) smooch. Ha ha ha.

HI, I was told by my breeder, that drooling is Manmade. Now, mine will drool, if we eat in front of him and he don't get nothing or when he get's exited. (He is male). Most of the time I have very little problems with drooling, but I also have a napkin handy just in case.

I kinda heard that too about them only really drooling when they saw something they wanted. Cassius salivated for the first time(i think) today when i was working on the "leave it" command putting a pile of treats in front of his face and getting him to not eat them, i eventually gave him a few and he did very well with it. But that was the first time I have seen him drool and I could tell he really wanted the treats. Does everyone elses dogs droll even when a treat/food is not involved?

lmao..... my baby drools all the time... and smears. he hasn't yet started the gross strings of droll. will all boxers do that? he is just over a year old and is only really slobbery after eating or drinking. bleck...... human napkin is a good description i think. boxer-newbie, i think your lil one is too young yet to be drooling that much. you just wait for the fun in store for you! :D
