How to keep furniture clean?

We have a leather sofa and love seat, but the matching chair is fabric. Of course, that became Moab's favorite place to sleep! I've found that steam cleaning it works really well to remove at stains or odor. The steam cleaner I use on our carpets has a furniture attachment and that seems to take any evidence that he sleeps there right out. I just have to do it once a month or so and then vacuum in between cleanings to keep the hair to a minimum.

i bought two couch covers at target last year, they are microfiber and can be thrown into the washer as needed.
i also use the steam cleaner furniture attachment every couple of months on a sunny day and put the cushions and pillows outside in the sun to dry.
of course, the steam cleaning causes buster to pout, as there are no cushions on the couches for him to lay on and mamma won't let him take a nice nap in the sunshine on the nice clean stuff all laid out like the perfect doggie bed outside....

3 yrs ago we spent $1500 on a couch & loveseat, both microfiber suede. We just threw out what was left of the set, and bought a new leather sofa, chair & automan. I goofed 3 yrs ago, was pondering getting leather, instead went w/the micro stuff, foolish me...had I bought instead of pondered, our living room set would be 3 yrs old & still look and smell great.

We had a micro fibre couch and finally had to throw it out. I could not keep it clean, and the little hairs stuck to it and it was very hard to get out. Shooter loved that thing, and slept on it day/night. Before throwing it out, we put it in our garage, and if the door was open - she would always go in and sleep on it. We ended up getting leather and have not had any problems! Wipes up clean and she doesn't go on it as much, since it's not as comfy for her and colder. When I put a blanket on it, then she'll sleep on it.

We have microfiber and baby wipes take off the drool marks fine. As for the hair has anyone tried that new tool they came out with the removable pads that is for pet hair removal. Neatest thing I ever owned!!!! I even use it for my throw rugs and the truck. It will remove hair you can't see!!!

I don't worry about it... Dakota has his own chair, on the couch in the LR we cover it with a sheet and that works really well. Dakota is part of the family, and is treated as such. ( he had to earn the privilege to be on the bed and the couch)

I try to keep on top of wiping their faces. Just like toddlers -- I sit on the couch with paper towels in hand waiting for them to finish meals. Besides a messy face after eating, Creek isn't really a drooler. Caney however has ridiculously floppy jowls, so I tend to keep paper towels next to the couch for whenever she comes to say "hello" right after a drink of water. :p Neither of them are allowed on the furniture in the living room, but they do love to use the couch as a napkin :rolleyes:
As for the shedding -- if that's what you were talking about -- I do A LOT of vacuuming and A LOT of brushing them with a de-shedding rake. And hopefully this new raw diet will help a bit too, from what I've heard :D

... and guess what? Snatch ate a corner when he was a puppy (yeah! stuffing everywhere!) .. and now Oxford thinks it's funny to scratch - well, you know, when the bone gets stuck between the cushions, you've got to do something... stinker!!!
my in-laws have extra couch... and i think they are grey suede. so we're going to get the set from them. they look so nice!
i sincerly hope they won't be full of hair/drool/scratch

And I thought I was the only one that wipes faces!!!LOL I tell Mopar come here and let me wipe your face and he comes and holds his face up to be washed.
