I would say mine were trained by around 6 months :) I found Star harder to housetrain than Finn. Not sure whether it was a male/female thing or whether Finn just copied Star.

We just got into the habit of taking Diesel out very often and even thru the night. He has had maybe two accidents in the house since we got him at 7 weeks. He is almost 2 now and he is great. He really holds it, but for the longest time he was taken out every few hours, in the beginning it was every 2 hours. Probably neurotic but he is fabulous now.

Tyson wasn't reliable until he was about a year old. I thought I was doing something wrong at first since he was so old, but he was definitely a tough one. Crash was potty trained when he was about 6 or 7 months old. And by potty trained I don't only mean they didn't have accidents - in addition I could leave them alone knowing if they had to potty they wouldn't. :) Crash was accident free at around 4 months old - but I knew if I left him alone and he had to go, he'd probably go on the floor. Each dog is a little different. ;) I trained my boys both exactly the same way and Crash just caught on quicker.

Our boy was housebroken within about six weeks of bringing him home. We had the occasional accident from time to time but it was our fault for missing the request.

Our girl on the otherhand took forever. But again, it was our fault. We got her in December and she was incredibly malnourished. She hated to go outside and so did we. We used pee pads and that went very well. She was housebroken in April or May. She will still sneek to the basement and pee and poop if given the opportunity but she does not go upstairs. We hope that when the cold weather returns that she does not regress.

Splash has been doing really well, but just in the past week or so he has two accidents in his crate (maybe because he was fixed last week?). One accident was definetly because we didn't take him out in time and the other I have no clue. But over all he does really well in the house and will run to the door when he has to pee or poop if he his playing in the house. It does get frustrating, but the occasional accident is find with me as long as it doesn't turn into an everyday thing. He is going to be 7 months. I consider myself lucky because friends of ours have a female 2 year old who still pees in the house, and won't even go in the crate making matters worse. So I am lucky to have my boy!

Rocky got it by the time he was 3 or 4 months but would still have accident if I didn't catch his signals or didn't take him out often enough. I never trained him on pads and have taken him outside since he was 8 weeks old, rain, snow or shine - he loves rain and snow btw. He's now 8 months old and I still take him out very regularly when home in the evenings and on weekends, about once every hour or two. He's crated while I'm at work (I just bought him the great-dane size crate so he's got a little more room - he hasn't soiled his crate since he was very small) and I go home at lunch to let him out. He sleeps all through the night and is free to roam but he stays on my bed. I agree about the bell training. I certainly am not brave enough to say he's beyond having accidents but he's good about ringing the bell when he wants to go out. If I miss it, he'll pace back and forth between me and the door.

A funny thing about the bell is that he'll ring it just because he wants to go out and play. He'll always give a performance though by going potty, even if it's just a dribble as if it's to justify the trip outside. Then he wants to run and play. He's got me trained alright...

Yeah my boy was house trained by 12 weeks. He scratches at the door a couple of times and if no one hears him he peaks his head around the corner then walks to the door and if you still dont come he just keeps peaking his head around the corner over and over again. Its so funny hes like come on man i got to go.
