Creasey

Boxer Pal
Im at 7 1/2 months and still trying to get him to do the right thing. Just curious how long its taken others so I can kinda know what to expect here. I imagine Im a little on the long side here but Im staying after it. Down to maybe 1-2 accidents a day in the house.

Lola's mum

Boxer Insane
Lola was quite young when she was potty trained Zeb still has the occasional accident now at 7 months old but to be honest that's mainly our fault for not letting him out often enough (darn kids) or reading the signs.

Kirby Kirb

Boxer Insane
Kirby is arund 7 months now, and fully house trained. He was such a fast learner, and I beleive the bell training helped alot. I would recomend that method of training to anyone. If you have not heard of this method it is so simple! Just hang some bells on your door (we used shoelaces, and santa bells)and everytime it is tie to go outside, I would take Kirby's paw, and shake the bells, and say words like "go outside", and give him lot's of praise!! Then he would go out. This took about a week or two, but it was such a great idea! Best of luck to you!:)

My Casey is also 7 1/2 months old. She just recently (like the past 2 weeks) has been going to the backdoor when she wants to go out. I had a REALLY hard time potty training her though. I don't leave water out for them, I give them water 3X a day or so. After I give her water (I let her drink as much as she wants) I would put her in the crate for 45 minutes or so, then let her out to pee. That was the biggest thing that helped me. Also, and it might seem like a lot but I take her out at least once every hour. We are down to about 1 accident every other week. If I can think of any other tips, I'll post again. I know what you're going through...hang in there!!!
Also lots of praise and a BilJac liver treat....she'll do just about anything for one of those!

superruben

Super Boxer
Ruben has been fully house trained since he was about 4 months old. I think at first it was just because we were REALLY watching him all the time and letting him out so often. For the past few months he has been 'woo-wooing' when he needs to go potty. It's so cute. He will come and talk to me then head to the back door and look back like "well what are you doing, C'MON!"

Jag's Mom

Boxer Booster
My boy is over a year old and still can't be trusted not to go in the house. I have to take him out really often just to see if he needs to go. It was a nightmare at first but slowly got better. He has only had 3 accidents in the last 2 months so I think we are doing good. I tried every trick the vet recommended and everthing I read about on here and am trying the bell starting this weekend. I wish I had known about it in the beginning because Jagger gives no indication to go out and I think he just needs to be taught how to let me know. :)

Dozer hasn't had an accident since before he turned 12 weeks old. Diesel at 6 months old will still try to sneak in my boys room about once a week and drop a pile. That's his favorite place but most of the time he goes outside like a big boy. He hasn't peed inside since about 4 months old. :)

missysmama

Boxer Buddy
Im not sure. I live with my brother and he has a dog door for his dog (14 yrs old) She has a hard time holding her bowels, so he has it for her. I know reading from BW it is not a good idea to have the dog door. But its either hace it or clean up after the older dog. It took her about 2 weeks to really grasp the concept of the door.

Griffin'sMom

Super Boxer
Griffin is just over 4 mons. and has been left home with the run of the house with the big dogs for up to 6 hours now with no accidents! We clicker train pretty hard...maybe that had something to do with it...or the older dogs to learn from!

My JRT was about 9 mons before she was housebroke completely! Some dogs just get it sooner!

Kirra & Torin were fully reliable and trained at 4 months. Once they learned the bell, there were no more accidents. My minpin wasn't totally trained until he was 11 months (uggh - small bladders). Now he can & has held it all night and 1/2 the day (his choice) especially if it is raining or winter. They all get it at their own pace - you just have to keep plugging away. :)
