My boy Murphy is now 12 weeks old and gets fed 4 times a day,
8.30,12.30,17.30 and 20.30.
At what age should i cut down on his meals to 3 or 2 and give him more?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Keep offering 4 meals per day until he shows disinterest or gets too tubby. ;)
By about 4 mths he should only need 3x day , then by 6 mths 2 x day.
watch his overall condition and use this as your guide.
Pups are meant to be slim, not skinny, and definately not fat!

Does he get a natural diet, kibble or a mix?
This can create a difference in how often they're fed.

He gets scrambled eggs in the morning, a mixture of kibble and a wet puppy food at 12.30 and 5.30 and half a cheese sandwich at night. He is a very healthy pup and does eat well.
This was the recommendation from the breeder.
When you say cut it to 3 meals, which is the best one to leave out?

feeding

We have a very happy "nut". We self feed until he is looking plump (has not happened yet). We go on "walks" in the AM and PM. He loves them. If I had waited (by the way they are un- leased walks) like some of the advise, my house would look like stuffing.............We feed him Flint River. I do not have the resorces to go barf. My wife just laugh's when I mention it, stating that " that is all I need, both of you with wings and Football season here now................

A pup away from home with the owner as the known reference point while not leashed will still push itself beyond it's limits. Yes, they can walk long distances, but it is the long term problems it can cause is why it is reccomended to wait.

It is like going to the dog park, if I did not watch the time, Jedi would play til he passed out and fell over, he does not have a built in limit switch. It is my job as the owner to watch how long and how he is doing, to end it when he needs to rest.

Now, my pup is 3 months and he does go on very short walks, and I only use them on days other excessive excerise has not happened (like playing with Emma or going to the Dog Park).

So, sure your pup can push itself unleashed, but long term I would still be scarey, depending on the length of your walks.
