Our boxer Tucker was 12 when we put him to sleep due to cancer. If not for the cancer I think he would have lived quite longer.

Roxie our white boxer will be 13 Nov 9th and she's doing great, she's slowed down over the years of course, but she loves her brother and sister and does still romp around the yard. Roxie's Mother lived to be fifteen, so we cross our fingers :)

My Me-Tu was nine when we lost her to a brain tumor. If I had known what I know now I would have had her spayed when I got her and possibly saved her a little longer. However, she may still have had a shortened life because there is some evidence that she was a puppy mill breeder and when the rescue found her she was starving, dehydrated and tied to a tree in the middle of winter. That has to take a tol on a life. We only got to have her for five years but she was a great friend. I hope Freya lives to be a ripe old age.

Donte & Deacon's dad is 10 years old & still going string, their uncle (dad's full brother) is 13 & seems half that age. I think it has alot to do with how the dog is cared for during it's life, & bloodlines.

I totally agree. appicon

not long enough on Earth with us..but

they live forever in our hearts.

My Blizzy was 8yrs 3mths and acted puppy like until the day before we helped her to the bridge. She had lymphoma and an enlarged heart (but then I always knew she had a huge heart..how else could she love us so much??). Her heart got her before the cancer did. I think I am thankful that it did. I have watched too many humans and furbabies suffer through cancer.

How Old?

Our Atlas is 11 1/2 years old. Each birthday -I take his picture thinking he will be gone by his next birthday, but so far he is still hanging in there. He has cataracts and sometimes is pretty feeble. Other times he seems to do better. I have talked to people who have had boxers until 12 and 14 years of age. I am not ready to give Atlas up, but on the other hand-I don't wish him to live to be so old he suffers. It hurts to see him limping around.
