how do you tell 2 boxers that their mom is pregnant?

So we found out that we are expecting our first baby in early February... I'm not showing yet, but I wonder when my two crazy boxers will pick up the signal if you know what I mean...

Right now, Courage my little one is still walking on the bed and stepping on my stomach along the way without a clue... maybe when I show they'll figure it out??? Don't you wish you can speak boxer?

What's been you're experiences, those moms out there...

Congratulations! I don't know from personal experience but I'm sure they'll be great with the new addition. I think saying the word "baby" in a calm manner, and maybe bringing a little blanket or something with something like baby powder or baby lotion and "making nice" might show them that "baby" and the baby's smell are a sign for being gentle. 1st of all congrats on the baby ...I know your are very excitied....As far as your two furbabies ...I think when they lay their head on your tummy & they get kicked in the head ..they will know something is up...and if its quiet enough they can hear the baby's heartbeat & sucking its thumb..!..Of course they wont know what it is ..but they will know something it different..!

Congratulations!
I too am expecting. I am due Nov. 1st so I am 5 1/2 months pregnant and showing. Unfortunately, at this point I don't think that the pooches will ever get the idea that it is not ok to step on mommies tummy. I have to be on constant guard and am always telling Jesse that she can not step on mommy she has a baby in her belly.

When I was first pregnant I thought Jesse new something was different because once in bed she was smelling behind my ear and then began to try to rub and roll on my hair and neck. Buster seemed really protective for a while but I don't get that feeling any more.

I'm so happy for you! Being pregnant is such an awsowme experience.

We didnt have a boxer when I was preggers with Trista, but we did have a pitt mix, Lokie... She just knew I was preg. and everyonce in a while if she stepped on my belly or near my belly, i'd just say "be gentle to the baby" and once we started setting up the nursery, I always allowed her to come in and sniff it out, while telling her, "this is the baby's room" "be gentle with the baby" Once Trista was born and I came home from the hosp... Lokie (who used to jump up every time we came in) just sat there and just knew that she shouldnt jump... and never did.

It all worked out really well... I think your furkids will start to realise that something is going on and once you start your nursery be sure to include them, but let them know that it is a place to be calm, no boxer burns through there, etc. I'm sure they will do fine. Trista was almost one when we got Harley and they do SO well together... when he comes in her room he usually lays by the chair and when she naps he sneaks in her room to sleep under the crib. He also hangout under the high chair when she eats, she feeds him as well... its great, boxers and kids... couldnt get a better combo.

When I was preggy with Mia my rottweiler (Socha) knew I was. She never left my side. She was obsessed with protecting me and even more so with Mia once she came home. I think she thought it was her baby. I have heard that they can hear the separate heart beat???? Don't know how many weeks you are but that should be at about 12 weeks. Good luck and congrats!!!!
