how do you tell 2 boxers that their mom is pregnant?

Congratulations!
I too am expecting. I am due Nov. 1st so I am 5 1/2 months pregnant and showing. Unfortunately, at this point I don't think that the pooches will ever get the idea that it is not ok to step on mommies tummy. I have to be on constant guard and am always telling Jesse that she can not step on mommy she has a baby in her belly.

I'm on constant guard of my tummy too! I'm 15 weeks now and the pups have been spending a LOT of time with me in bed. I have to be so careful when they start wrestling that they don't stand on me. I never lay on my back because I'm paranoid one of them is gonna jump up while I'm asleep and land on my belly.

Jed seemed to be pretty clingy to me in the early days, not sure if he knew something was up but he sure didn't complain about being in bed more often LOL

As for telling them the news, well so far they don't have much to say.....when I arrive home with a baby in December though it could be a different story!!

Congratulations! How awsome for you! My pups always seemed very interested in sniffing my belly when I began to show. They sensed there was something alive in there and would stare at my belly and lick it!

My ashley girl knew. She became very protective of me, and would always press her nose on my belly even when I wasnt showing. It was like she could smell the baby or something. The funniest part was when the baby started kicking, and ashley got the bump in the nose for the first time. It was so funny, she just kind of tilted her head and looked at me, like how did that happen? Noah could have cared less, he was still a puppy. He was about 7 months when we brought the baby home, he thought the baby was a pretty neat thing. I had a c-section so the first time I layed on the bed to rest, he layed next to me(very carefully), nose to nose, and just stayed like that for a long time, just breathing on me. Guess he missed me a little, but knew I wasnt up for the rough stuff yet. We had the basinett in the bedroom and if the baby didnt move for awhile(when the baby was sleeping), Ashley would either climb on the bed or go to the side of the basinett and whine or sniff until the baby moved, then she was satisfied and went about her business.

Thank you all for your congradualations... I'm not quite accustomed to all these people being so happy for me...

As for the doggies, they still don't seem to notice too much, but they are giving me practice at waking up at odd hours of the night to let them out... for no apparent reasons.... but I am accepting the challenge.

One good thing is that I'll be staying home after the baby comes, so the doggies will get me to themselves (well and the baby) all day long instead of being alone at home for 9 hours of the day.
