Completely Boxer Crazy
We have a pick-up truck with a camper shell. Nikki rides in the back all the time, but without restraints. We read this whole post and visited CanineAuto.com, and we found a good Canine Truck Restraint for dogs who ride in the back of trucks. This is a great post, thanks!!

Cuatro loves his "Easy Rider" harness. He gets so excited when we put it on. It helps him sit straight during turns, curves, etc. I think we got it at Petsmart for $10.

I let Domino free ride but he isnt a distraction at all. I have a ford F150 and he is either in the back seat or sitting just like a person in the passenger side seat. He doesnt try to jump all over or be a pest.....He knows better. He has been riding since he was 8 weeks old. Now what really bothers me is seeing people rope up their dog in the bed of a truck and remind you I live in florida so you can imagine how hot that bed is. And the dog gets thrown all over I'd like to rope the idiot driving!!!!!!:p

But I think I am going to goto petsmart this weekend and see if he will be ok with the seatbelt for him. Fingers crossed!smashicon

Good Idea. I have an F-150 also. Cuatro rides up front with his paws on the console. The seatbelt helps hold him up. People on the road really get a kick out of seeing him like this.

Our Boxers protect us so why can't we do the same for them?
We have our boys harnessed and they are secured in the back of our Blazer. They never get to ride freely. Our first Boxer , Rocky was left to ride freely and whenever we got out of the car he would jump into the front seat and wait for us to return.
Plus if I didn't restrain them it would be hard to drive with 2 Boxers on my lap....

Just to clarify, Cuatro rides up front of my F-150 with the harness on. He never rides in a vehicle without it...never.

Right on!
I couldn't agree with you more. Equally as frustrating are folks who don't restrain their infants, children, in car seats or seat belts. If adults don't want to wear seatbelts, that is just nature's way of weeding out the less intelligent out of the gene pool. However, kids and dogs expect us to protect them.
