We pick ours up every couple of days. I think I'm going to start every time they go, since then I don't have to worry about piles in the yard and stumbling into one at 5 am when we go out!

Well Ali is allergic to everything so he only has a few brands he can eat. We feed him Purina one lamb and rice. It is one of the only brands he can eat were we don't have to send away for it.

We make a point to pick up the poop every morning before playtime because Dozer once walked through some running after a ball then jumped into my lap! YUCK! He also has allergies, you might do well to have him allergy tested so you know what he cant eat. Then you can find a better quality food. Some of the low quality kibble has so many fillers that they actually poop alot more per day.

We pick it up everytime that Samantha goes. For some reason it just drives me nuts knowing that it is out there. :)

I used to make fun of the lady that lived next door following her dog around on the run when he pooped.
Now I am doing it. I don't do it everyday but atleast 3-4 times a week I walk around my yard with my little shovel and bag. We try to walk him on the leash and take a plastic shopping bag w/us. That does seem much easier when you have time.

Also Yogi eats Candiae and I have noticed he goes much smaller amts now. About 3 times a day but the pile is really small. Maybe give a new food a try>

My BF uses a leaf rake on the yard and then scoops it up with a snow shovel. This way it not only gets all the poop, but any trash, left over bones, destroyed toys, left overs from my mom's dog, and the leaves. I didn't think it would work in wet weather, but I watched him do it this weekend and what took him 30 minutes before now takes him 10.

You might also check around for a service that comes once a week. There is one here that is $10 per week for one dog and they clean up the poop. They will also clean cat boxes. I am sure some people would find that a small price to pay. My mom has had back surgery and she always complained because it would hurt her back. I just discovered this service when we got Emma - but my mom could have used it when she lived with us. Just some ideas.

Our yard is a muddy mess right now, so the poop never dries out and just stays gross. Once our snow melts I will go back out there and pick it up. Once the weather improves I will go out 2-3 times a week and pick it up. Mine dont walk on theirs, it just looks gross. Our yard never smells...I am suer if I left it out there it would tho!

We live in New Mexico so I cant just hose it down everyday. We are under water limits and you have to pick and choose your water uses wisely! We get rain maybe once every few months so that doesn't help at all. What are some tips you have to keep your area smell free?

Just a thought, since you have water restrictions. Can you save or collect dish, bath or shower water and take it out side in buckets to wash down the stones. The soap in the used water will help to clean the stones at the same time.
