Sugar... Sugar Ray Leonard of course. I wanted a female and wanted to give her a boxer name and that's what came to mind. Tawny and Shadow are rescues and came with those names.

Our first boxer (a female) was named Felony because my husband (boyfriend at the time) had quiet an eventful youth! Then we got another female (a pet for our pet, if you will) and named her Misdomeanor aka Misty. When we married, we moved into an apartment and for 5 long years we were kidless (his mom took ownership). Then last January we bought a house, and I said "Oh great now we can have Felony" and his mom was devestated. So we decided (well, really I decided, I just had to convince my husband) to get a baby. He said "Okay, but we are getting a male and his name is Joe". I don't know where that came from, but I was so happy that I just agreed. So, Joe it is.
(Even though his dad named him, he is a mama's boy).

Xena came at a time when Xena Warrior Princess was a big hit on TV so my boys wanted to name her Xena, and I liked it too! Our new fur-baby comes home in a couple of weeks. We named him "Spirit" because 1) it was Christmas time and Christmas "Spirit" came to mind and 2) he is a Sagitarius which means "freedom loving, explorer and free-spirit", so it fit him perfectly. What better way to explain a boxer!:D

Our puppy is named Byron or Lord Byron after the poet. But he sometimes gets 'puppy chops', 'honey bun', 'little terror' and other nicknames. We thought through German names, famous champion boxers (Cassius, mohammed) but Byron was the favourite

My older boy "Konig" was named after I looked up some german words in an encylopedia, it means "king" in german, My new puppy (who is 12 weeks old now) is named "Torin" I found that name in an Irish website, (my husband is part Irish) Torin means "Cheif or cheiftain". All my dogs are leaders in my heart.

Rockwell's Primitive Behavior

Otherwise known as "Rocky" :D Me and my boyfriend could not decide on a name we both liked, we did have alist of maybes though. the day we went to the breeder and saw him, we both looked at each other and agreed.. Rocky! My BF loves The Rock and well, I've always thought he was very cute. Rocky looked so.. so.. Rocky! lol :p

So I decided to name him Rocky, but make it short for Rockwell, and as far as Primitive Behavior goes.. I always wanted a nice long name and when I watch him sometimes he just has this very primitive way of being. He's very much a man I must say, down to the snores and passing gas

Bodie and Max

Owner of an 8 year cat, Max, that I have had since he could curl up easliy in my hand. I have had Bodie (Boxer) since Sunday who is a 1 yr old Fawn male.

Max was easy, went to the shelter and took him home. I was watching TV and it was the ending of the movie Down and Out in Beverly Hills, awesome movie. As the credits were rolling it showed the dog was played by Max The Dog, so I went with it. He seems to like the name and talks back whenever he hears it used.

Bodie was more of an issue, he is from a rescue leage that had no clue what his name was and the one they used my girlfriend and I were not overly fond of. I used the web to look up a million names and decide on something the gf and I could agree to. This was not easy, I liked names like Rocky, Buster, Bogart, etc.. My gf was much more of the artsy type Aristotle, Plato, Caesar....

I sat down and thought about what I like and what she liked, that did not work out well for coming up with names. I changed my thought process and decided to think of her and mold myself into things we could both agree to. She is from CA and loves to surf. I am a movie nut so I thought of surfing movies that I liked...Point Break.. Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze... Bodie was Swayze's character in the movie and was an easy name to agree on.

Luckily the names suits the pooch very well, he is wild yet focused at the same time, smiliar to the character Bodie in Point Break.

Ok, that was more typing that I planned to do, and I am sure more reading than you expected as well...

Diego Garcia

My boyfriend and I debated (some would say argued) over the perfect name for our now 24 day old baby (fawn male).

We decided on the name "Diego Garcia" because that is where my boyfriend was stationed (it is a small island in the middle of the Indian Ocean)when he first replied to my online personal ad. It was just the perfect fit.

I think that he will probably be called "DG" for short.
