HELENE
Boxer Insane
We always had a dog when I was growing up in England. The first two were Fox Terriers, then a Golden Lab from the RSPCA. When I came to Canada and met and married Gunther, he had a son who wanted a dog, we went to the local pound and there was a golden Cocker Spaniel, Goldie was with us for 8 yers. After that, Gunther said he missed having a dog, that was his first experience, he never had one in Germany when he was a boy. We looked in the local paper and saw Boxer puppies for sale by a local breeder, so we went to see them and that was it. The first one we had we named Winston, he was a brindle, he was only with us for just over two years. He died at the vets, they were doing tests because he had started to cough up blood. They found out that he had a hole in the valve to his heart. The breeder told us that the mother to Winston had had some more puppies by a different father, that was an accident, Bing got to Tina while the breeder wasn't home and someone else was supposed to be looking after things. We went to see them when they were about 10 days old, and there was this one that was pushing all the others about, and even then he was mumbling (he never stopped!). We said that we would have him, so he came to us when he was about 7 or 8 weeks old and we named him Brenin which is Welsh for King, he was with us for 11 1/2 years. He was a fawn with a black mask. Now we have Sergeant, we got him from a different breeder, we got him when he was about 11 weeks old as we were going away at Christmas. He will be 6 on 22nd October . We named him Sergeant as he has some chevron stripes on his back, although he looks more of a fawn on his left side, he has hardly any brindle at all. He also has a black mask. We would never have another breed now although people say they have a face only a mother can love.
