:( On 11/18/02 our house was burglarized and along with some of our stuff, our female boxer puppy, Lily, was stolen out of her kennel. I just can't believe someone could do such a thing. She was only 7months old, we love her so much. I am lost without her. My husband and I have only been married a little over a year and we just moved into this house about 4 months ago, we have always wanted a dog, and since we bought a house, my husband sold his motorcylce to by Lily. We have wanted a boxer for quite some time. Some of my family and friends have boxers. When we go Lily, I got attached really quick. She was so perfect, my little cuddle bug. I am just heartbroken without her. I miss her laying her head on my lap in the morning and slapping her gums, and of course that little nub wagging. We live in Fort Wayne, In, the people who did this are from Floyd County, Kentucky. I have been doing everything to find her. We have been to all the neibors houses with flyers, we have hung flyers up around the neiborhood, put an ad in the paper and even been on the news. We are offering a big reward for her return. The latest news we heard was that a person called into our local crimestoppers and described the men and Lily and said that they had already fled back to Kentucky with her. I have called Floyd County to keep and eye out for her. I just don't know what else to do. I don't know if I will ever get over this. Does anyone have any suggestions of what else to do? I will do anything to have her back. She was a flashy fawn boxer with perfect markings. She had a white mussel with black around her eyes, a white belly, and for white socks. I will try to send a picture later. Any suggestions anyone might have I would be thankful to hear.

If you think that she might of made it down to KY then I would call the local Animal Control and give them a heads up. Call the local shelters, boxer rescues, and vets in the area. You can probably fax your flyer to all of those places so they can have it on hand. I hope you get your baby back soon :( Our thoughts are with you.

I am SO sorry.

I can't imagine what you're going through. That is just awful! It's devastating to lose your baby no matter how it happens, but for someone to break into your home and take her out of her crate is especially heartbreaking. I pray you find her! Best of luck!

you can look in the newspaper for people selling a boxer and see if they are trying to sell yours, which is highly likely for the type of person who would rob a house to try and 'cash in'. But, also, they might not have the resources to put an ad in the paper. Good luck, very sorry to hear about your tragedy. I put a combination padlock on my dogs crate every day just incase something like that happens. People say that is a bad idea if the house catches fire when we're not there, but if thats the case, i wouldn;t expect anyone to enter a burning building anyhow. (plus, the cage can be disassembeled, but it just makes stealing the god that much more dificult)

Thanks for the support

Thanks for the support, it means a lot to me. I have already notified and faxed the flyer to the local animal shelter in Kentucky. I just hope and pray she turns up soon. I love to see the pictures of all the boxers. To Myrocky, you baby looks almost just like my Lily except that yours is brindle. Enjoy your babies and hug them for me!

The combination lock on the crate is a great idea. I will definately think of that for the future if I get her back. Luckily where I work will let me bring her to work with me everyday if she returns. So I dought she will be leaving my side very often.

I have been looking in the papers for people selling them, but I am not sure about all the papers in Kentucky. I also thought that since they sold all of our electronics for only $250.00 that they wouldn't want to spend the money to put an ad in the paper, but who knows.

How horrible!

I guess she wasn't microchipped, to young still. I too feel your pain. How did you gather it was someone out of your area? The gall of some people. I agree with the other post, letting the vets in both areas know verbally as well by sending pictures is a great start. Eventually they should take her to the vet. Also the local Petsmart type stores that provide shots at a lower rate and the shelters. I wish you luck in finding your baby.

Also, how did you come to know that they sold your electronics for $250? Do the police know who these people are?

We do know who the guys are that did this. My husband called around to the local pawn shops and found our stuff right away. The pawn shop had copies of there ID's and they gave Warsaw, In addresses that they worked at. When we saw the pictures of the guys, we hadn't ever seen them before. One of the guys has a warrent for his arrest in Kentucky and in Warsaw, In, on separate incidences. I will try to get in contact with some vets and Petsmart of that area, maybe we will have a better chance that way.

I don't quite understand the whole thing. The person who called the tip into crimestoppers said that they are calling her by her name, Lily, but the only way they would have know that is by seeing me on the news. If that is the case they could return her and get plenty of money to by a puppy of there own. I guess maybe they were to scared they would get caught by the police.

Thanks again for all the support, I will let you know if we find her. Until then, I can't say this enough, please enjoy your babies and cherish them, it is so lonely without them.

Well, you have a lot of information. That's really great. I'm sure you've talked to the police, but if they knew where these creeps were, they would have already arrested them. Can you hire a private investigator? Can you get photos of the bad guys and publicize the photos on the news or even put up pictures of them all around their own city with the word REWARD up on top? It's easier for some people to recognize human faces than puppy faces. That's what I would do. Please keep us updated!
