Hooked on Phonics Worked for Beasley!

Beasley's gotten so good at recognizing certain words and phrases that I have to be really careful even when I'm talking on the phone! If I'm talking to my young goddaughters and say 'bye bye', Beasley thinks we're going for a ride and gets all excited. When either/both of my folks are gonna be passing through town or coming to visit, all I have to say is 'Grandma/Grandpa's coming' and he starts looking for them. Isn't it amazing how smart our babies are???

I've been tempted to buy one of those bumper stickers for my car that say 'My Boxer is Smarter than your Honor Student' but then I wouldn't want to offend anyone who doesn't understand that my dog is as important to ME as someone elses' kids are to them. Instead, I've opted for 'DOG IS MY CO-PILOT'.

Be careful. We started spelling some words so often, Nestle figured out what were were talking about. She belongs on Doggie Honor Roll.

These boxers are scary sometimes they're so smart! I bought Charm a soup bone for a treat. She had it one night in her room and I always take it away at bed time and put it back in the fridge. Well that little brat took it out her doggy door and buried it in the yard in the snow. So I asked her where her bone was? Of course I get the boxer "what bone mom?" look. So she and I go in her yard and I walk around trying to find this thing. No such luck. I finally give up, go back in the house. I get back into the kitchen and ask Charm once again, "What did you do with your bone?" And doesn't that stinker go straight back outside, dig the bone out of a snow pile, bring it into the kitchen, and drop it at my feet!!??!! It's like she knew the whole time exactly what I was looking for, she just didn't want me to know where her hidey place was!!!!

Yes, I know what your saying. We have resorted to spelling too and I'm afraid that she will eventually figure that out. Then we are in deep.
